How much does the HNK HIB-22 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the HNK HIB-22 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The HNK HIB-22 is the largest HIB high-speed boring and milling machine, and the only one with 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Z travel. Its rotary table is 2,000 x 2,200 mm (78.7 x 86.6 in) and carries 15,000 kg (33,069 lb).
Depth is the reason to pick it over the HIB-18. X and Y are identical on the two, 3,000 mm (118.1 in) and 2,000 mm (78.7 in). The longer Z lets the column back away from a thick block and still reach its centre line after the table is indexed, which a 2,000 x 2,200 mm table requires: a part that fills it swings a wide circle when rotated.
Big automotive press dies and bumper molds are the natural work. They are large, heavy, and finished with small tools at high speed over long cycle times. HNK's stated design points for the HIB series fit that job: a standard 12,000 rpm spindle, linear motion guides, and feed up to 12,000 mm/min (472 ipm). The speed range in the table is 50 to 12,000 rpm.
The W-axis travel is 400 mm (15.7 in), common to all four HIB models, and the spindle diameter is listed as Ø200. Table indexing is 0.001°, located by pin at every 90 position. HNK lists Fanuc 31i-B and Siemens 840D. As elsewhere in this series, the page gives no spindle power, taper or tool-magazine data.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Z travel, the longest in the HIB series
- 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) on a 2,000 x 2,200 mm (78.7 x 86.6 in) rotary table
- 50 to 12,000 rpm spindle range
- 3,000 mm (118.1 in) X and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) Y
Limitations
- X and Y are no larger than on the HIB-18
- W-axis remains 400 mm (15.7 in)
- No spindle power, taper or magazine data on the maker's page

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Against the HIB-18 it has Z travel of 1,600 mm (63.0 in) instead of 1,300 mm (51.2 in), a 2,000 x 2,200 mm (78.7 x 86.6 in) table instead of 1,600 x 1,800 mm (63.0 x 70.9 in), and 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) instead of 12,000 kg (26,455 lb). X, Y, W and spindle are the same on both.
02
Up to 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) on the table. The table is a rotary type indexing at 0.001°, so the die can be turned to present each side to the spindle without re-clamping.
03
The table gives a spindle diameter of Ø200, printed without a unit, and a speed range of 50 to 12,000 rpm. HNK's description calls the 12,000 rpm spindle standard. Power and taper are not stated.
04
Yes, the HB-130X lists the same 2,000 x 2,200 mm (78.7 x 86.6 in) table and 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) base load. The HB-130X is a 5 to 2,500 rpm machine with a 700 mm (27.6 in) W-axis; the HIB-22 trades quill travel for speed.
