How much does the KRC HBM-26F cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the KRC HBM-26F that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The KRC HBM-26F is the largest horizontal boring mill KRC lists: a floor-type machine with a 260 mm (10.24 in) boring spindle, 130 kW (174 HP) / 161 kW (216 HP) of spindle power and column travel that begins at 6,000 mm (236.2 in).
The envelope is scaled for very large fabrications and castings. X is 6,000 mm (236.2 in) + N° x 1,000 mm (39.4 in). The spindle head travels between 3,000 mm (118.1 in) and 7,000 mm (275.6 in) in Y, depending on the column ordered, and the boring spindle itself extends 1,500 mm (59 in) on W. The rotary table is 3,000 mm (118 in) x 3,000 mm (118 in) with a 40,000 kg (88,080 lb) load rating, against the 30,000 kg (66,060 lb) of the HBM-20F.
Spindle speed falls as the bar grows. This model tops out at 1,600 rpm, where the HBM-20F reaches 2,000 rpm, and X and Y rapids are 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm), the same rate as Z and W. That suits large boring bars and face mills run slowly. It's not a machine for small tools.
KRC's table for this model does not give usable figures for maximum torque, ram travel or combined Z + W travel: the metric and inch values printed in those three rows disagree with each other. Confirm them with KRC before sizing a job. Taper is listed as ISO 50/60. Like the rest of the series, the machine has hydrostatic guideways, a hydraulic counterbalance on the column and the 3 step gearbox headstock.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Largest spindle of the series at 260 mm (10.24 in), with 130 kW (174 HP) / 161 kW (216 HP) listed
- Rotary table of 3,000 mm (118 in) x 3,000 mm (118 in) rated for 40,000 kg (88,080 lb)
- Y travel from 3,000 mm (118.1 in) up to 7,000 mm (275.6 in)
- X travel starts at 6,000 mm (236.2 in) and extends in 1,000 mm (39.4 in) sections
- ISO 50/60 taper row and 1,500 mm (59 in) of boring spindle travel
Limitations
- Top spindle speed is 1,600 rpm, the lowest of the floor-type models
- X and Y rapids are 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm), slower than the 12,000 mm/min (472 ipm) of the HBM-20F
- Torque, ram travel and Z + W travel are not printed consistently for this model and must be confirmed with KRC
- A machine with X travel from 6,000 mm (236.2 in) and Y up to 7,000 mm (275.6 in) needs a purpose-built foundation and a tall bay

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Column travel (X) starts at 6,000 mm (236.2 in) and is extended in 1,000 mm (39.4 in) sections. Spindle head travel (Y) is between 3,000 mm (118.1 in) and 7,000 mm (275.6 in). The boring spindle travels 1,500 mm (59 in) on W. The rotary table measures 3,000 mm (118 in) x 3,000 mm (118 in) and carries 40,000 kg (88,080 lb).
02
A 260 mm (10.24 in) boring spindle with an ISO 50/60 taper row, a maximum speed of 1,600 rpm and listed power of 130 kW (174 HP) / 161 kW (216 HP). KRC does not label the two power values, and the torque row for this model is not printed consistently, so ask KRC for the torque curve.
03
KRC's table does not give a usable figure. The ram travel, the combined Z + W travel and the maximum torque of this model are each printed with a metric and an inch value that do not match, so neither can be taken as correct. Ask KRC for all three. The boring spindle travel of 1,500 mm (59 in) is printed consistently.
04
The HBM-20F has a 200 mm (7.87 in) spindle, 2,000 rpm, a 2,500 mm (98.4 in) square table for 30,000 kg (66,060 lb) and X travel from 4,000 mm (157.5 in). The HBM-26F is larger in every one of those dimensions and carries 40,000 kg (88,080 lb), but runs its spindle at 1,600 rpm and its X and Y rapids at 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm).
