Overview

The Hwacheon HiREX-4000 is a long-bed vertical machining center with 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X travel over a 4,500 mm (177.2 in) table, built in two widths. The Y520 version has 520 mm (20.5 in) of Y and a 550 x 4,500 mm (21.7 x 177.2 in) table; the Y620 has 620 mm (24.4 in) of Y and a 650 x 4,500 mm (25.6 x 177.2 in) table. Z travel is 570 mm (22.4 in) on both, with the spindle nose 150 ~ 720 mm (5.9 ~ 28.3 in) above the table.

The width choice changes more than Y. The Y620 table carries 4,650 kg (10,251 lb) against 4,300 kg (9,480 lb) for the Y520, has six T-slots instead of five, and places the spindle centre 760 mm (29.9 in) from the column instead of 660 mm (26.0 in).
