Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler FDM-4235 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Feeler FDM-4235 is the shortest machine on the widest FDM table: 4,000 mm (157.5 in) long and 3,000 mm (118.1 in) wide, with 4,200 mm (165.4 in) of X travel and 3,400 mm (133.9 in) of Y. The 35 group is the only one in the series where the table itself gets wider. The FDM-4228 and FDM-4232 both have tables 2,600 mm wide.
A table three metres across changes what can be loaded. Large moulds for tubs, pallets, bins, body panels and appliance cabinets are wide as well as long, and so are the bases they bolt to. Listed load is 24 ton, with 27 ton in brackets, a rating the 28 group does not reach until the FDM-7228.
A wider table means a longer crossrail and a larger table casting. Feeler describes how the table is carried: guideways in a four-rail symmetrical layout, giving wide load-bearing surfaces, on a cast iron box-type base with reinforced ribs. The Y axis can also be ordered longer, with 4,000 mm (157.5 in) shown in brackets.
Rapids are 15 m/min (591 ipm) on X and Y and 12 m/min (472 ipm) on Z. The spindle is 6,000 rpm on BT/DIN/CAT 50 as listed, with 4,000-8,000 rpm and #40 bracketed. Z travel is 800 mm (31.5 in), or 1,000-1,400 mm. The magazine holds 24 tools, or 32-90.
