Overview
The Hwacheon L2 is a double-column vertical machining center for wide work: 1,100 mm (43.3 in) of Y travel, 1,350 mm (53.1 in) between the columns and a table 1,100 mm (43.3 in) wide. It comes as the L2 2500, with 2,500 mm (98.4 in) of X travel and a 2,500 x 1,100 mm (98.4 x 43.3 in) table, or the L2 3000, with 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X and a 3,000 x 1,100 mm (118.1 x 43.3 in) table. Z travel is 500 mm (19.7 in) on both.
The width is the point of this model. Nine T-slots of 18 mm at 110 mm pitch cross the table, giving a dense grid for clamping wide plates or two rows of fixtures. The rating, though, is 2,000 kg (4,409 lb), the same as on the narrower Hwacheon L1 with its 900 mm (35.4 in) wide tables, so the L2 adds area rather than carrying capacity. For heavier single parts the Hwacheon L3 is rated 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) on a 3,000 x 1,800 mm (118.1 x 70.9 in) table.
On the floor, the L2 2500 measures 8,540 x 3,785 mm (336.2 x 149.0 in) and weighs 17,000 kg (37,478 lb). The L2 3000 needs 9,780 x 3,785 mm (385.0 x 149.0 in) and weighs 19,000 kg (41,887 lb).
