Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hwacheon VESTA-500T that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hwacheon VESTA-500T is a twin-spindle vertical: two 24,000 rpm BBT-30 spindles on separate Z and W axes, 320 mm (12.6 in) apart, cutting over one 720 x 400 mm (28.3 x 15.7 in) table. X travel is 520 mm (20.5 in), Y 400 mm (15.7 in), and each spindle moves 380 mm (15.0 in) vertically. All four axes rapid at 60 / 60 / 60 / 60 m/min (2,362 / 2,362 / 2,362 / 2,362 ipm).
The layout is built for making two identical small parts at a time. The 320 mm spindle pitch fixes the fixture layout: the two stations must sit 320 mm apart, and each part with its fixture must fit within that pitch or the stations will interfere. Each spindle has its own 24-tool magazine, listed as Left: 24 / Right: 24, with memory-random selection.
Each spindle is direct drive with grease-lubricated bearings on a Ø45 mm (Ø1.8 in) bore and oil-cooler jacket cooling, rated 11 / 2.2 kW (14.8 / 3.0 hp). That is light cutting power, in line with a 30-taper spindle running to 24,000 rpm: small end mills, drills and taps in aluminium and similar materials, not heavy steel roughing. Tools are limited to 200 mm (7.9 in) long, 2.8 kg (6 lb), and Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in) with neighbours or Ø120 mm (Ø4.7 in) without.
The table carries only 200 kg (441 lb) in total, shared by both stations, and has three 14 x 125 mm (0.55 x 4.92 in) T-slots. The spindle nose sits 150 ~ 530 mm (5.9 ~ 20.9 in) above the table, 476 mm (18.7 in) from the column.
At 7,500 kg (16,535 lb) on a 3,337 x 1,950 mm (131.4 x 76.8 in) footprint, the machine produces two parts per cycle from one footprint. It needs 42 kVA, 0.5 ~ 0.7 MPa x 690 NL/min of air and has a 280 L (74 US gal) coolant tank. Control is a Fanuc 0i-MF Plus.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two 24,000 rpm spindles on Z and W axes, 320 mm (12.6 in) apart, for two parts per cycle
- 60 m/min (2,362 ipm) rapids on all four axes
- A 24-tool magazine for each spindle (Left: 24 / Right: 24)
- 3,337 x 1,950 mm (131.4 x 76.8 in) footprint and a 42 kVA supply for a two-spindle machine
Limitations
- Each spindle is rated 11 / 2.2 kW (14.8 / 3.0 hp), light for steel
- Table load is 200 kg (441 lb) for both stations together
- Fixtures must match the fixed 320 mm (12.6 in) spindle pitch
- BBT-30 tools are limited to 2.8 kg (6 lb), 200 mm (7.9 in) and Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in) with adjacent pockets filled

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Two spindles, 320 mm (12.6 in) apart, ride on their own vertical axes, Z and W, each with 380 mm (15.0 in) of travel, over a shared 720 x 400 mm (28.3 x 15.7 in) table. Each has its own 24-tool magazine. Two fixtures at the same 320 mm pitch let the machine cut two parts per cycle.
02
Only for light work. Each 24,000 rpm BBT-30 spindle is rated 11 / 2.2 kW (14.8 / 3.0 hp), and tools are limited to 2.8 kg (6 lb). It is aimed at small tools at high speed. For heavier steel cutting the VESTA-610D, with 12,000 and 15,000 rpm BT 40 spindles rated 18.5 / 11 kW (24.8 / 14.8 hp), is the closer fit.
03
X travel is 520 mm (20.5 in) and Y 400 mm (15.7 in), and the table takes 200 kg (441 lb) in total. Because both spindles cut at once, each part and its fixture must fit within the 320 mm (12.6 in) spacing between spindle centres.
04
The machine weighs 7,500 kg (16,535 lb), covers 3,337 x 1,950 mm (131.4 x 76.8 in) and stands 2,310 mm (90.9 in) tall. It needs 42 kVA and 0.5 ~ 0.7 MPa x 690 NL/min of air, and the coolant tank holds 280 L (74 US gal).
