Overview

The Hwacheon Hi-M1300 is a wide-table, light-cutting high-speed vertical: 1,300 x 800 x 400 mm (51.2 x 31.5 x 15.7 in) of travel over a 1,300 x 800 mm (51.2 x 31.5 in) table, with a BT-30 built-in spindle offered in two versions, 24,000 rpm or 30,000 rpm. Spindle power is 6 kW (8.0 hp) as standard and 12.5 kW (16.8 hp) as an option, and the whole machine weighs 5,000 kg (11,023 lb).

That pairing of a large table with a light spindle and a 300 kg (661 lb) table load tells you what the machine is for: wide but light parts cut with small tools at high speed, such as graphite plates, electrodes laid out in rows, aluminium panels and engraving. The 30,000 rpm version is the one to pick when the smallest end mills set the cycle time. The spindle is grease lubricated and cooled by a water chiller.

The Hwacheon Hi-M G2+ uses the same 1,300 x 800 mm (51.2 x 31.5 in) table for the opposite job: a 20 kW (26.8 hp) BT 40 spindle at 20,000 rpm and an 800 kg (1,764 lb) table load. A shop choosing between the two should start from the heaviest part and the biggest cutter it expects to run.

Tooling is 16 tools by fixed address, up to 200 mm (7.9 in) long and 3 kg (6.6 lb), with a listed maximum diameter of Ø16 mm (Ø0.6 in). Rapids are 25 / 25 / 20 m/min (984 / 984 / 787 ipm), cutting feed reaches 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm), and the spindle nose comes down to 50 mm (2.0 in) above the table, reaching 450 mm (17.7 in) at the top of Z. SIEMENS-828D is standard and FANUC 0i-MF an option, with 380V, 60Hz for SIEMENS and 220V, 60Hz for FANUC. The machine needs 25 kVA and 0.5~0.7MPa x 690Nℓ/min of air, occupies 2,462 x 2,755 mm (96.9 x 108.5 in), or 2,690 x 2,670 mm (105.9 x 105.1 in) with the full cover, and stands 2,360 ~ 2,760 mm (92.9 ~ 108.7 in) high.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Two spindle versions, 24,000 rpm or 30,000 rpm, both BT-30
  • 1,300 x 800 mm (51.2 x 31.5 in) table with 1,300 x 800 x 400 mm (51.2 x 31.5 x 15.7 in) of travel
  • Spindle cooled by a water chiller, with an optional 12.5 kW (16.8 hp) motor
  • Light 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) machine running on a 25 kVA supply
  • Spindle nose comes down to 50 mm (2.0 in) above the table for thin plates

Limitations

  • Table load is 300 kg (661 lb), against 800 kg (1,764 lb) on the Hwacheon Hi-M G2+ with the same table size
  • Standard spindle power is 6 kW (8.0 hp), too little for heavy steel removal
  • Maximum tool diameter is listed as Ø16 mm (Ø0.6 in), with 16 tools in the magazine
  • Z travel is 400 mm (15.7 in), with 450 mm (17.7 in) the most from spindle nose to table

Best For

Large, light plates and panels in graphite or aluminium Small-tool finishing and engraving at up to 30,000 rpm Rows of electrodes on a 1,300 x 800 mm (51.2 x 31.5 in) table Shops with a 25 kVA supply and limited floor loading

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Which spindle versions are available on the Hi-M1300?

Two: 24,000 rpm and 30,000 rpm, both on a BT-30 taper with a built-in drive, grease lubrication and water-chiller cooling. Power is 6 kW (8.0 hp) as standard, with 12.5 kW (16.8 hp) as an option. Choose the faster spindle when very small end mills decide the cycle time.

02 How does the Hi-M1300 differ from the Hi-M G2+?

Both have a 1,300 x 800 mm (51.2 x 31.5 in) table. The Hwacheon Hi-M G2+ has a 20 kW (26.8 hp) BT 40 spindle at 20,000 rpm, an 800 kg (1,764 lb) table load and weighs 9,500 kg (20,944 lb). The Hi-M1300 runs BT-30 at 24,000 rpm or 30,000 rpm, takes 300 kg (661 lb) and weighs 5,000 kg (11,023 lb).

03 What power and air does the Hi-M1300 need?

25 kVA, on 380V, 60Hz with the SIEMENS-828D control or 220V, 60Hz with FANUC 0i-MF. Air supply is 0.5~0.7MPa x 690Nℓ/min. Allow 2,462 x 2,755 mm (96.9 x 108.5 in) of floor, or 2,690 x 2,670 mm (105.9 x 105.1 in) with the full cover.

04 How much can the Hi-M1300 table carry?

300 kg (661 lb), spread over a 1,300 x 800 mm (51.2 x 31.5 in) table with five 16 mm T-slots at 125 mm pitch. That suits plates and light fixtures; for heavier work on the same table size, the 800 kg (1,764 lb) rating of the Hwacheon Hi-M G2+ is the alternative.
