Overview
The largest 3-axis machine in the RXP series, the Röders RXP950 has a machining range of 950 mm x 905 mm x 500 mm (37.4 x 35.6 x 19.7 in) and carries workpieces up to 2,000 kg (4,409 lb). Röders describes it as a highly dynamic machine relative to its size, thanks to its weight-optimised design.
The near-square range is the thing to notice. At 905 mm the second axis is almost as long as the first, so a mould plate can be turned whichever way suits the fixturing, and the 950 mm x 796 mm (37.4 x 31.3 in) table is covered almost completely by the spindle. There is 700 mm (27.6 in) from spindle nose to table for tall die blocks.
Nothing about the standard spindle changes with the size of the machine. It is the same 36,000 rpm, 15 kW (20.1 hp) HSK E50 unit as on the RXP801, with tools up to 20 mm. On a machine that can hold a 2,000 kg block, that spindle finishes well but removes material slowly, and a buyer who also wants to rough should ask about the HSK A63 spindle that Röders names as the largest for this model.
The changer has 40 places for HSK E50 and can be extended to 94 or more with a chain that is loaded during machining. Feed is 0–60,000 mm/min.
