How much does the Hwacheon Hi-M G1 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hwacheon Hi-M G1 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hwacheon Hi-M G1 is a compact high-speed vertical machining center with a 24,000 rpm built-in spindle, 750 x 600 x 350 mm (29.5 x 23.6 x 13.8 in) of travel and a 750 x 620 mm (29.5 x 24.4 in) table. The spindle is rated 9.5 kW (12.7 hp), grease lubricated and jacket cooled by an oil cooler, and takes HSK-E40 tooling with BT-30 as an option.
What sets the G1 apart within its frame size is the choice of control. It is offered with either a SIEMENS-828D or a FANUC 0i-MF, and the supply follows the control: 380V, 60Hz for the SIEMENS version and 220V, 60Hz for the FANUC version. A shop already programming one of the two can keep its post-processors and operators. The table also lists a dust collector, 2,710 mm (106.7 in) high, which points the machine at graphite and other dry, dusty cutting rather than flood-cooled steel.
Sixteen tools sit in a fixed-address magazine. Each can be up to Ø63 mm (Ø2.5 in), 200 mm (7.9 in) long and 3 kg (6.6 lb), so the machine is built around small cutters at high speed rather than large face mills. Rapids are 25 / 25 / 20 m/min (984 / 984 / 787 ipm), cutting feed reaches 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm), the table carries 400 kg (882 lb) on five 16 mm T-slots at 125 mm pitch, and the spindle nose sits 100 to 450 mm (3.9 to 17.7 in) above the table.
Two siblings share this envelope. The Hwacheon Hi-M760 raises spindle power to 11.2 kW (15.0 hp) with water cooling. For bigger parts, the Hwacheon Hi-M G2+ moves to a 1,300 x 800 mm (51.2 x 31.5 in) table, a BT 40 spindle and 20 kW (26.8 hp). The G1 needs 35 kVA and 6 to 7 kg/cm² of air, occupies 2,165 x 2,575 mm (85.2 x 101.4 in), stands 2,520 mm (99.2 in) high and weighs 4,800 kg (10,582 lb).

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Both share the 24,000 rpm, 9.5 kW (12.7 hp) HSK-E40 spindle, the 750 x 620 mm (29.5 x 24.4 in) table and 16 tools. The Hi-M G1 can be ordered with SIEMENS-828D or FANUC 0i-MF control. The Hwacheon Hi-M G1 Pro comes with FANUC 0i-MF only and adds C3-grade ball screws, 0.05 µm linear scales and HTDC thermal displacement control as standard.
02
The Hwacheon Hi-M760 has the same 750 x 600 x 350 mm travels, table and 24,000 rpm HSK-E40 spindle, but rates the spindle at 11.2 kW (15.0 hp) against 9.5 kW (12.7 hp) on the G1 and cools it with water. The Hwacheon Hi-M760 ships with SIEMENS-828D and offers FANUC 0i-MF as an option.
03
16 tools, selected by fixed address. Each can be up to Ø63 mm (Ø2.5 in) in diameter, 200 mm (7.9 in) long and 3 kg (6.6 lb). Spindle taper is HSK-E40, with BT-30 available as an option for shops already tooled in that system.
04
