Price estimate
We do not have a price for the HNK HPM-30L (30x80) that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The HNK HPM-30L (30x80) is the smallest machine in HNK's large-sized double column series, and it reads like a bridge between two ranges. Its table, 3,000 x 8,000 mm (118.1 x 315.0 in), also exists in the five-face HPM-30M series. What changes is everything above the table.
The ram is 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in), against 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) on the HPM-30M. The motor is 45/55 kW (60.3/73.8 hp), cont/30min, with 60/75 kW (80.5/100.6 hp) in braces. Table load is 50,000 kg (110,229 lb). And the clearance under the spindle is 3,000 mm (118.1 in), with 3,500 mm (137.8 in) in braces, which is the height of a large engine frame or a turbine casing standing upright.
It is also the only L size with an ISO No.50 taper as its sole option and a 2,000 rpm spindle. The larger models halve that speed and move to ISO No.60. Spindle diameter is Ø130 mm (5.1 in).
Travels are 8,250 mm (324.8 in) in X, 4,850 mm (190.9 in) in Y, 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in Z with 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in braces, and 2,500 mm (98.4 in) in W. Columns are 3,850 mm (151.6 in) apart. HNK names ship engines, power generators and steel mill facilities as the target work.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) ram
- 3,000 mm (118.1 in) under the spindle, 3,500 mm (137.8 in) in braces
- 45/55 kW (60.3/73.8 hp) motor, 60/75 kW (80.5/100.6 hp) in braces
- 50,000 kg (110,229 lb) table load
- 2,000 rpm, the fastest spindle in the HPM-L series
Limitations
- Ø130 mm (5.1 in) spindle, smaller than the Ø160 mm (6.3 in) of the HPM-40L
- ISO No.50 only, where larger L sizes list ISO No.60
- Y travel of 4,850 mm (190.9 in) is slightly less than on the HPM-30M

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The HPM-30M (30x80) has a 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) ram, 40,000 kg (88,183 lb) of load and motors up to 37/45 kW (49.6/60.3 hp). The HPM-30L (30x80) has a 500 x 500 mm ram, 50,000 kg and 45/55 kW. Table size and X travel are identical.
02
The distance between table surface and spindle end is 3,000 mm (118.1 in), with 3,500 mm (137.8 in) in braces. The crossrail travels 2,500 mm (98.4 in) and the ram 1,000 mm (39.4 in), 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in braces.
03
Ø130 mm (5.1 in), ISO No.50, 2,000 rpm. Motor power is 45/55 kW (60.3/73.8 hp), cont/30min, with 60/75 kW (80.5/100.6 hp) in braces. Speed and power are starred rows that HNK will change to order.
04
HNK says the heavy-duty structure of the series is most suitable for cutting large-sized components related to ship engines, power generators and steel mill facilities, and that optional attachments allow diverse jobs at one set-up.
