Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Huron MX 20 M that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Huron MX 20 M is the largest MX milling centre, with 3,000 x 3,100 x 1,600 mm (118.1 x 122.0 x 63.0 in) of travel and a 2,200 mm table rated for 12,000 kg (26,455 lb). It applies the MX universal-head concept to parts the size of a small car.
Size brings the rapid feedrate down to 20 m/min, half the rate of the MX 16 M. The table's C axis turns at 7 rpm. These are the speeds of a machine that spends its time in the cut on large workpieces, and cycle planning should assume long positioning moves.
The head and spindle are unchanged from the MX 16. A tilts from -45° to +180° at 100 rpm on a 45° plane. The spindle is HSK 100-A at up to 10,000 rpm with 43 kW and 415 Nm. With 1,600 mm of Z, a 650 mm tool and the head horizontal, deep features on the flank of a tall part come within reach.
Huron publishes dimensions for the machine without APC only: 9,668 mm wide, 9,480 mm deep and 6,620 mm high. For the APC configuration the table says not available. Stated positioning stays at 0.007 mm on X, Y and Z and 10 sec on A and C, the same as on the smallest universal-head MX. The changer has 60 housings for tools up to 30 kg.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,000 x 3,100 x 1,600 mm working volume
- 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) on a 2,200 mm table
- Same 0.007 mm linear positioning statement as the smaller MX machines
- 415 Nm HSK 100-A spindle with tools up to 650 mm long
- Universal head tilting from -45° to +180°
Limitations
- Rapid feedrate is 20 m/min
- C axis turns at 7 rpm, for indexing heavy parts
- No dimensions are published for an APC configuration
- Needs 9,668 x 9,480 mm of floor and 6,620 mm of height

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 3,000 mm, Y travel 3,100 mm and Z travel 1,600 mm. The table is 2,200 mm in diameter and carries 12,000 kg (26,455 lb).
02
Rapid feedrate is 20 m/min on the linear axes. The head's A axis moves at 100 rpm and the table's C axis at 7 rpm. The MX 16 M, one size down, has 40 m/min rapids.
03
An HSK 100-A spindle with 43 kW, 415 Nm and a 10,000 rpm maximum. The 60-housing changer takes tools up to 120 mm in diameter, 650 mm long and 30 kg (66 lb).
