Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Huron KX 50 L that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Three metres of X travel under a high-speed five-axis head: that is the Huron KX 50 L. Its travels are 3,000 x 1,700 x 900 mm (118.1 x 66.9 x 35.4 in), and the fixed table measures 3,300 x 1,250 mm with an admissible load of 6,000 kg (13,228 lb).
The L is the long-bed version of the KX 50. Compared with the KX 50 M it gains a metre of X and half as much again in table capacity, and it keeps the 40 m/min rapid rate on all axes. For long aluminium parts such as spars and stringers, or for several shorter parts clamped in a row, that length is the reason to choose it.
At the tool, nothing differs from the shorter machine. The forked head swivels B through +/- 110° and rotates C through +/- 360° at 100 rpm. The HSK 63-A spindle turns at up to 20,000 rpm with 75 kW and 75 Nm, a high-speed, low-torque characteristic with its corner at 9,550 rpm.
Huron presents the KX Large Series as fixed-portal machines for continuous five-axis or five-side machining, with wide clearance between the columns and a palletizing function for productivity. The KX 50 L is 5,820 mm wide and 10,450 mm deep. Linear positioning is 0.007 mm and repeatability 0.004 mm.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X travel with 40 m/min rapids
- 6,000 kg (13,228 lb) on a 3,300 x 1,250 mm fixed table
- 20,000 rpm, 75 kW spindle for high-feed aluminium cutting
- C axis rotates +/- 360° in the forked head
- Narrower to install than the KX 50 M, at 5,820 mm wide
Limitations
- 75 Nm of torque limits work in hard materials
- Depth of 10,450 mm with doors open and conveyor
- Tool weight limit of 8 kg and diameter limit of 90 mm
- Z travel of 900 mm restricts tall parts

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X is 3,000 mm, Y is 1,700 mm and Z is 900 mm. The fixed table is 3,300 x 1,250 mm (129.9 x 49.2 in) and carries 6,000 kg (13,228 lb).
02
Yes. Both have the forked head with B at +/- 110° and C at +/- 360°, and both use the HSK 63-A spindle with 75 kW, 75 Nm and 20,000 rpm. The KX 50 M is shorter, with 2,000 mm of X and a 4,000 kg table load.
03
The spindle offers 75 Nm of torque, and its characteristic speed is 9,550 rpm. That profile is built for high-speed cutting. For torque-heavy work, the KX 100 in the same series has an 18,000 rpm spindle with 240 Nm.
04
Overall measurements with doors opened and conveyor are 5,820 mm wide, 10,450 mm deep and 5,140 mm high. Check hall height and crane hook clearance against the 5,140 mm figure.
