Overview

The HNK HPM-25H (25x60) carries a 2,500 x 6,000 mm (98.4 x 236.2 in) table and is the largest HPM-H built with the lighter 380 x 380 mm (15.0 x 15.0 in) ram. One size up, the HPM-30H moves to a 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) ram and a taller frame.

For a die shop that boundary is worth understanding. Everything up to this model shares one head, one crossrail stroke of 1,200 mm (47.2 in) and a table-to-spindle distance of 1,800 mm (70.9 in), with 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in braces. The HPM-25H (25x60) is thus the biggest table available before the structure itself steps up.

X travel is 6,250 mm (246.1 in) and Y 4,200 mm (165.4 in), with 3,200 mm (126.0 in) between the columns. The table is rated at 20,000 kg (44,092 lb). Body-side outer dies, which are long and moderately wide, are the natural fit. Fanuc 31i-B and Siemens 840D are listed.

The spindle runs at 6,000 rpm, with 8,000 rpm in braces, through an ISO No.50 nose. Power is 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), cont/30min, and Z travel 800 mm (31.5 in).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Largest table in the series on the 380 x 380 mm (15.0 x 15.0 in) ram
  • 6,250 mm (246.1 in) of X and 4,200 mm (165.4 in) of Y
  • 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) table load
  • ISO No.50 spindle at 6,000 rpm, 8,000 rpm in braces

Limitations

  • Table-to-spindle distance is lower than the 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of the HPM-30H
  • Load is the same as on the shorter 25x50
  • Ø100 mm (3.9 in) spindle on a six-metre machine

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the HPM-25H (25x60)?

X is 6,250 mm (246.1 in), Y is 4,200 mm (165.4 in), Z on the ram is 800 mm (31.5 in) and W on the crossrail is 1,200 mm (47.2 in). The effective distance between columns is 3,200 mm (126.0 in).

02 Should I step up to the HPM-30H (30x60)?

The HPM-30H (30x60) has the same 6,250 mm X on a 3,000 mm wide table, with 4,000 mm (157.5 in) between columns, 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of W, 25,000 kg (55,115 lb) of load and a 400 x 400 mm ram. Choose it for wider or taller dies.

03 How much can the HPM-25H (25x60) table carry?

20,000 kg (44,092 lb), the same as the HPM-25H (25x50). The figure is one of the four starred rows that HNK says can be changed to suit the customer.

04 What is the spindle power of the HPM-25H (25x60)?

22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), given as continuous and 30-min ratings in that order. It is the same motor across all twelve HPM-H sizes, paired with a Ø100 mm (3.9 in) spindle.
