Overview
The HNK HPM-30L (30x100) is a three-metre-wide heavy double column machining center with a ten-metre table: 3,000 x 10,000 mm (118.1 x 393.7 in), and 10,250 mm (403.5 in) of X travel.
No other HNK series offers this width at this length. The H and M lines stop at eight metres for a 3,000 mm table, so a long, comparatively narrow heavy part leads here: a marine engine bedplate section, a long generator stator frame, a rolling-mill stand laid on its side.
The table rating is 50,000 kg (110,229 lb), unchanged from the eight-metre version. On a longer table that is a lower load per metre, which is worth checking for a dense part that does not use the full length.
Headroom is generous. HNK lists 3,000 mm (118.1 in) between table and spindle end, 3,500 mm (137.8 in) in braces, with a crossrail travel of 2,500 mm (98.4 in). The 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) ram travels 1,000 mm (39.4 in), or 1,200 mm (47.2 in) per the figure in braces.
The spindle is Ø130 mm (5.1 in) with ISO No.50 taper at 2,000 rpm. Power is 45/55 kW (60.3/73.8 hp), cont/30min, with 60/75 kW (80.5/100.6 hp) in braces. Y travel is 4,850 mm (190.9 in) across 3,850 mm (151.6 in) columns.
