Overview
The HNK HPM-40H (40x100) is the largest die and mold machine HNK lists, with a 4,000 x 10,000 mm (157.5 x 393.7 in) table and 10,250 mm (403.5 in) of X travel. No other HPM-H model reaches ten metres.
Ten metres at 6,000 rpm is an unusual combination. Machines this long are normally heavy-duty types with slow, large spindles. This one is for long tools that need a fine surface: wing-skin and spar lay-up molds, wind-blade root tooling, rail-car side molds, and the largest stamping dies. The table carries 35,000 kg (77,160 lb).
Cross travel is 6,000 mm (236.2 in). The column-distance cell is not printed cleanly on the maker's page for either 40H model and is omitted. Height is the same as on every size from the HPM-30H up: 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of crossrail travel, 800 mm (31.5 in) of ram travel in a 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) ram, and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) under the spindle, 2,350 mm (92.5 in) in braces.
