Overview
The HNK HPF-20H (20x40) is the high-speed half of a pair. HNK builds two crossrail-fixed machines on a 2,000 x 4,000 mm (78.7 x 157.5 in) table, and this one has the 6,000 rpm spindle.
Its counterpart, the HPF-20M (20x40), runs at 3,000 rpm with a Ø130 mm (5.1 in) spindle and carries 20,000 kg (44,092 lb). The HPF-20H has a Ø100 mm (3.9 in) spindle, 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), cont/30min, and a 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) table. Daylight differs slightly as well: 1,000 mm (39.4 in) here against 1,200 mm (47.2 in) on the HPF-20M.
The decision between them follows the material. Aluminium, graphite, pre-hardened mold steel finished with small cutters: those want the speed. Cast iron and structural steel roughed with large face mills want the bigger spindle and the heavier table.
