Overview
Seven metres of table on the narrow frame: the HNK HKDB-130(1Mx7M) is a table-moving duplex boring machine with a 1,000 x 7,000 mm (39.4 x 275.6 in) table and two Ø130 spindle heads working from opposite sides.
It is the first HKDB with the full-size specification. Table load is 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), the heads travel 2,000 mm (78.7 in) vertically, and each spindle has a 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) motor on a cont/30min basis. The shorter HKDB-130(1Mx5M) has 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) and 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp).
What it keeps from that smaller model is the narrow spindle gap. The distance between spindle ends is 300 to 1,300 mm (11.8 to 51.2 in) and the Z travel of each head 500 mm (19.7 in). For a slim part, such as a rail-vehicle bolster, a press side member or a long gearbox beam, the narrow gap is an advantage because tools stay short. Wider parts belong on the HKDB-130(1.2Mx7M), which opens to 1,500 mm (59.1 in) with the same table length.
