How much does the HNK HFB-160 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the HNK HFB-160 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
50,000 kg (110,229 lb) on a 3,000 x 4,000 mm (118.1 x 157.5 in) rotary table is what the HNK HFB-160 offers over the HFB-150, together with a Ø160 mm (6.3 in) spindle. The column and ram figures are otherwise shared: 2,500 ~ 4,000 mm (98.4 ~ 157.5 in) in Y and 800 mm (31.5 in) of ram travel.
So this model is chosen by the workpiece, not by the envelope. If the part is heavier than the 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) the HFB-150 table takes, or needs a table three metres wide to sit on, the HFB-160 is the smallest floor-type machine in the range that takes it on a rotary table for multi-face work.
The spindle (W) travel is 700 mm (27.6 in), with 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in braces, and the Z and W total is 1,500 mm (59.1 in), with 2,200 mm (86.6 in) in braces. With the braced values the quill and ram together reach further than on the HFB-150, which helps on deep housings where the bore is far behind the front face.
It is the last HFB with the 5 to 2,000 rpm speed range. From the HFB-180 the range ends at 1,500 rpm. Taper is ISO 50. X travel of the column is 4,000 ~ 30,000 mm (157.5 ~ 1,181.1 in). HNK lists Fanuc 31i-B and Siemens 840D, and it describes the ram as a stabilized extension design that counters thermal elongation and bending.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 50,000 kg (110,229 lb) rotary table, 3,000 x 4,000 mm (118.1 x 157.5 in)
- Ø160 mm (6.3 in) spindle that still runs 5 to 2,000 rpm
- Z and W total of 1,500 mm (59.1 in), or 2,200 mm (86.6 in) in braces
- Y travel up to 4,000 mm (157.5 in)
Limitations
- Y and Z travels are no greater than on the HFB-150
- Base W travel is 700 mm (27.6 in)
- Spindle motor rating is not published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The rotary table is 3,000 x 4,000 mm (118.1 x 157.5 in) with a maximum load of 50,000 kg (110,229 lb). It indexes at 0.001°, with the 90° positions located by pin.
02
For the table and the spindle. The HFB-150 carries 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) on 2,500 x 3,000 mm (98.4 x 118.1 in) with a Ø150 mm (5.9 in) spindle. The HFB-160 carries 50,000 kg (110,229 lb) with a Ø160 mm (6.3 in) spindle. Y and ram travels are the same.
03
Ram travel is 800 mm (31.5 in), or 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in braces, and spindle travel 700 mm (27.6 in), or 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in braces. HNK gives the combined Z and W travel as 1,500 mm (59.1 in), or 2,200 mm (86.6 in) in braces.
