Overview
The Hedelius TILTENTA 7-3600 NEO can carry one or two integrated NC rotary tables. With 3,600 mm (141.7 in) of vertical X travel, a 4,080 x 700 mm fixed table and a removable work area partition, this swivel-spindle travelling column machine is set up by Hedelius for economical series production of large and heavy workpieces.
The second rotary table is optional, and it changes the arithmetic of oscillation mode. Each work area then has its own 5-axis station. One is cut while the other is clamped, and Hedelius gives the time to change from one work area to the other as approx. 10 seconds. The data sheet lists the pendulum areas as 1,800 x 1,340 mm.
Take the partition out and the machine becomes a long 3-axis or 4-axis centre. Hedelius quotes vertical machining of workpieces up to 3600 mm in length. With the spindle horizontal the X travel is 3,030 mm, and Z is 800 mm against 695 mm vertical. Table load is 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) on the fixed table and 800 kg (1,764 lb) on a rotary table, whose faceplate is Ø 700 mm.
The swivelling main spindle covers -5° to +98° or -98° to +98° and is clamped with 2,500 Nm. Spindles in the data sheet are SK40 / BT40 at 14,000 rpm with 117 Nm and 22 kW or 183 Nm and 29 kW, and HSK A63 at 18,000 rpm with 136 Nm and 35 kW. A magazine with 45 tools is standard, and the theoretical capacity extends to 309. The machine weighs 15,700 kg (34,612 lb) and is 2,650 mm high for transport.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- One or two integrated NC rotary tables (the second optional), each with a Ø 700 mm faceplate
- Removable work area partition; changing work areas in oscillation mode takes approx. 10 seconds
- Pendulum areas of 1,800 x 1,340 mm
- Vertical machining of workpieces up to 3600 mm long with the partition removed
- Fixed 4,080 x 700 mm table for 3,000 kg (6,614 lb)
Limitations
- Each rotary table is limited to 800 kg, far below the fixed table's 3,000 kg
- Horizontal X travel is 3,030 mm, so end machining does not cover the full table
- Y travel of 700 mm on a machine over four metres long
- No spindle above 35 kW or 183 Nm in the data sheet

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Yes. Hedelius describes the equipment with one or two integrated heavy-duty NC rotary tables, the second being optional. Combined with the work area partition this gives a 5-axis station in each work area for series production of large and heavy workpieces.
02
Hedelius states that changing from one work area to the other in oscillation mode only takes approx. 10 seconds. The pendulum areas are listed as 1,800 x 1,340 mm, and the partition between them is removable.
03
X is 3,600 mm with the spindle vertical and 3,030 mm horizontal. Y is 700 mm. Z is 695 mm vertical and 800 mm horizontal. The spindle distance is 20 to 715 mm and the linear axes feed at up to 40 m/min with 25,000 N of feed force.
