Overview
The Hedelius TILTENTA 9-4600 is a swivel-spindle travelling column machining centre with travel paths of 4600 x 900 x 900 mm, or 4,600 mm (181.1 in) in X. Hedelius frames it around two uses: vertical machining of workpieces up to 4600 mm in length, and economical 3- and 5-axis machining of series parts in oscillation mode.
In oscillation mode the page gives 2 x 2,025 mm. Two metres per side is enough for a full-size fixture plate or a rotary table set-up in each area, which is why this length is a common choice for series work: the operator clamps on one side while the spindle is busy on the other. The mode is listed as optional.
Used as a single work area, the machine takes long parts on a fixed table with a contact surface of 5,080 x 900 mm and a load of up to 5,000 kg (11,023 lb). The spindle swivels from -5° to +98° or from -98° to +98°.
