Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford LG-1370 NEO that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford LG-1370 NEO is a 40-taper vertical machining center with 1,300 mm (51.2 in) of X travel and a full 700 mm (27.6 in) of Y, built on linear guideways. Z travel is 650 mm (25.6 in). The NEO pair is Hartford's newer take on the LG concept, and the 700 mm Y axis is what separates it from the narrower LG-1000.
The 1,400 x 700 mm (55.1 x 27.6 in) table is rated for an average load of 1,000 kg (2,205 lb). The spindle is offered pulley-driven at 8,000 / 10,000 / 12,000 rpm or as a DDS direct-drive unit at 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 rpm. Motor ratings start at 11 / 15 kW and go to 15 / 18.5 kW as an option, both stated as continuous / 30 min figures. The arm-type magazine holds 24 tools, with 30 and 40 listed in brackets as alternatives.
Much of what Hartford says about the NEO concerns the machine around the cut. The overall design is said to reduce the footprint by 20%, and the sheet metal does not have to be taken off for shipping. Coolant through the spindle is packaged as a compact module that does not add to the footprint. Lubrication is by grease, which removes waste oil disposal from the maintenance routine.
On the cutting side, the Z-axis is driven directly by a large motor with no counterbalance, the BBT spindle has dual-sided contact, and the tool magazine sits on its own seated locking mechanism so that its weight does not act on the cutting structure.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 700 mm (27.6 in) of Y travel with a table of the same depth, on a 1,300 mm (51.2 in) X stroke
- Spindle motor of 11 / 15 kW, optionally 15 / 18.5 kW (Cont. / 30 min), on a #40 nose
- Tool magazine of 24 pockets with 30 or 40 listed as alternatives, mounted on a seated locking mechanism
- Footprint reduced by 20% according to Hartford, with no sheet metal to disassemble for shipping
- Grease lubrication eliminates waste oil disposal
Limitations
- Average table load of 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) is the same as on the longer LG-1570 NEO, so heavy parts gain nothing from this size
- Only a #40 spindle is listed; there is no #50 version of the NEO
- Spindle speed ends at 15,000 rpm with the DDS head
- The table publishes no rapid traverse rate, torque, tool dimensions or machine weight

Frequently Asked Questions
01
1,300 mm (51.2 in) in X, 700 mm (27.6 in) in Y and 650 mm (25.6 in) in Z. The table measures 1,400 x 700 mm (55.1 x 27.6 in) and takes an average load of 1,000 kg (2,205 lb).
02
Hartford lists a 20% smaller footprint, sheet metal that stays on for shipping, a compact coolant-through-spindle module that does not enlarge the footprint, and grease lubrication that does away with waste oil disposal. The Z-axis has a large direct-drive motor and no counterbalance.
03
A #40 spindle with BT40 shanks (BBT, CAT and DIN are listed as alternatives). The pulley version runs 8,000 / 10,000 / 12,000 rpm and the DDS version 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 rpm. The spindle drive motor is 11 / 15 kW with 15 / 18.5 kW as the option (Cont. / 30 min).
04
The LG-1570 NEO has 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of X travel and a 1,600 x 700 mm (63.0 x 27.6 in) table. Y, Z, table load, spindle lists and magazine are identical on the two. Choose by part length alone.
