Hartford LG-1000 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Hartford LG-1000 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Hartford or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Hartford LG-1000 is a 40-taper vertical machining center on linear guideways with 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of X travel, 510 mm (20.1 in) of Y and 630 mm (24.8 in) of Z. It is the one-metre machine of Hartford's LG line, and the size at which the line first offers a third, larger spindle motor.

The table measures 1,150 x 510 mm (45.3 x 20.1 in) and carries 700 kg (1,543 lb) as an average load. Its width equals the Y travel, so the whole table surface passes under the spindle, while the table is longer than the X stroke and its ends stay outside the cut. Three T-slots are listed as 18 x 160 (3) mm.

Hartford gives two spindle families rather than one figure. The pulley-driven head is listed at 8,000 / 10,000 / 12,000 rpm and the direct-drive (DDS) head at 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 rpm. Spindle motor ratings read 5.5 / 7.5 / 11 kW (Cont. / 30 min). The page does not say which motor goes with which speed, so settle the pairing in the quotation. Tooling is BT40, with BBT, CAT and DIN shanks named as alternatives, in an arm-type magazine of 24 or 30 tools.

On the structure, Hartford describes a one-piece bed, an oversize column with a widened interface to the base, and servo motors coupled directly to the ballscrews. The maximum rapid traverse rate is given as 30,000 mm / min. The control is Hartford's own Hartrol Premium, and the maker says its spindles are built in-house with run-out within 5μm.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Two spindle families: pulley drive at 8,000 / 10,000 / 12,000 rpm or direct drive (DDS) at 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 rpm
  • Y travel of 510 mm (20.1 in) matches the table width, so no part of the table depth is out of reach
  • Maximum rapid traverse rate of 30,000 mm / min on linear guideways, with servo motors coupled directly to the ballscrews
  • BT40 tooling with BBT dual-contact, CAT and DIN shanks listed as alternatives
  • Hartford states spindle run-out within 5μm for its self-made spindles

Limitations

  • Table load is 700 kg (1,543 lb), which rules out heavy fixtures plus a large steel part
  • Y travel stops at 510 mm (20.1 in); the LG-1370 NEO offers 700 mm (27.6 in)
  • The magazine holds 24 or 30 tools; the 40-tool arm changer appears only on the LG-2100
  • The published table gives no spindle torque, tool size limits, machine weight or power supply figures

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels and table size of the Hartford LG-1000?

X travel is 1,000 mm (39.4 in), Y is 510 mm (20.1 in) and Z is 630 mm (24.8 in). The table is 1,150 x 510 mm (45.3 x 20.1 in) with three T-slots, listed as 18 x 160 (3) mm, and an average load rating of 700 kg (1,543 lb).

02 Which spindles does Hartford list for the LG-1000?

Two types on a #40 nose. The pulley spindle is listed at 8,000 / 10,000 / 12,000 rpm and the direct-drive DDS spindle at 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 rpm. The spindle drive motor row reads 5.5 / 7.5 / 11 kW (Cont. / 30 min). Hartford's page does not tie each motor to a speed, so ask for the exact combination when ordering.

03 How does the LG-1000 differ from the LG-800?

Only in length. The LG-800 has 800 mm (31.5 in) of X travel and a 950 x 510 mm (37.4 x 20.1 in) table rated for 500 kg (1,102 lb). Y, Z, the spindle lists, the motor row and the 24 or 30 tool magazine are the same on both, so the LG-1000 is the pick when parts or multi-vise setups need the longer stroke.

04 What control does the LG-1000 run?

Hartford presents the machine with its own Hartrol Premium controller and describes AI technology that tunes parameters automatically to maintain accuracy. The spec table on the product page names no other control, so confirm with Hartford if a different CNC is required.

05 How fast are the axes of the LG-1000?

Hartford states a maximum rapid traverse rate of 30,000 mm / min for the linear guideway design. The servo motors are coupled directly to the ballscrews, which the maker says removes the backlash or servo lag caused by a belt. Cutting feed rates are not published on the product page.
