YCM FV56T — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the YCM FV56T that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from YCM or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The YCM FV56T is a small 30-taper vertical machine: a BBT30 spindle that turns 15,000 rpm on 3.7 kW (5 HP), over travels of 560 mm (22.05 in) in X, 410 mm (16.14 in) in Y and 450 mm (17.72 in) in Z. At 2,800 kg (6,173 lb) it is the lightest milling machine in YCM's current list.

A 3.7 kW spindle defines the work. Drilling, tapping, light profiling and finishing in aluminium, brass and plastics are in range; heavy slotting in steel is not. High speed with low power is the usual recipe for small tools, where the cutter diameter limits the load long before the motor does. The tool limits say the same thing: 4 kg (8.8 lb) per tool, ø63 x 200 mm with adjacent tools, ø100 x 200 mm without.

The table is 700 x 420 mm (27.56 x 16.54 in), longer than the X travel, with three 14 mm T-slots and a 300 kg (661 lb) rating. Rapids are 36 m/min in X and Y and 24 m/min in Z. The magazine holds 16 tools, or 20 as an option, so a job with many drill and tap sizes can fill it quickly.

For spindle nose to table distance the table prints 110~560 mm with a second range, 110~695 mm, in brackets and no explanation of what the bracket refers to; ask YCM which configuration it describes. The product page lists no feature statements for this model, so anything beyond the table should be confirmed with the maker.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 15,000 rpm BBT30 spindle suited to small drills, taps and end mills
  • Light machine at 2,800 kg (6,173 lb)
  • 700 x 420 mm (27.56 x 16.54 in) table, longer than the 560 mm (22.05 in) X travel
  • Rapids of 36 m/min in X and Y

Limitations

  • Spindle power is 3.7 kW (5 HP), which rules out heavy cuts
  • The magazine holds 16 tools as standard and 20 at most
  • Tools are limited to 4 kg (8.8 lb) and ø63 x 200 mm with a full magazine
  • Z rapid is 24 m/min, slower than X and Y

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What spindle does the FV56T have?

A BBT30 spindle with a top speed of 15,000 rpm and 3.7 kW (5 HP). The table lists no optional spindle for this model. The combination suits small-diameter tools more than heavy stock removal.

02 What are the travels and table size?

Travels are 560 mm (22.05 in) in X, 410 mm (16.14 in) in Y and 450 mm (17.72 in) in Z. The table is 700 x 420 mm (27.56 x 16.54 in) with T-slots listed as 3 x 14 x 100 mm and a load rating of 300 kg (661 lb).

03 How many tools does the FV56T hold?

16 tools as standard and 20 as an option. Each tool can weigh 4 kg (8.8 lb). The size limit is ø63 x 200 mm with adjacent tools in place and ø100 x 200 mm without adjacent tools.

04 How fast are the axes?

Rapid traverse is listed as 36/36/24 m/min for X, Y and Z. Cutting feed is 1~10,000 mm/min (0.04~394 ipm). The machine weighs 2,800 kg (6,173 lb), so the moving masses are small.
