Overview

Unlike some of the maker's milling machines, the Vision Wide MB-2520 is described with a tool changer. Vision Wide says the tool magazine is side-mounted on the column for a compact design, and that a cam-type ATC changes tool to tool in 3 sec, with random setting and large tool management.

A cam-type changer drives its arm through a mechanical cam, so the grip, pull, swing and insert happen as one fixed motion; that is how it reaches 3 sec without hydraulic sequencing. Random setting means a returned tool goes into the nearest empty pocket and the control tracks where it is. Large tool management reserves the pockets beside an oversize cutter, which on a heavy mill is used often, since big face mills are its staple.

The table's tool capacity row reads 32/40 pcs(OPT.). The accessory lists name a 60 tools magazine as an option; the standard entry on the page is garbled and cannot be read as a figure, so the capacity should be confirmed.

The machine has 2,500 mm (98.4 in) of X, 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Y and a 2,500×1,700 mm (98.4×66.9 in) table for 10,000 kg (22,046 lb). The spindle is a 4,000 rpm two-step gear type on 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp). Rapids are 15 m/min.
