How much does the Hartford HSA-536 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford HSA-536 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With a 5,000 x 3,000 mm (196.9 x 118.1 in) table and 3,600 mm (141.7 in) of Y travel, the Hartford HSA-536 is the widest five-metre HSA double-column machining center. X travel is 5,000 mm (196.9 in). The table carries 21,000 kg (46,296 lb).
The x36 models are the top build of the range, and Hartford's notes single them out twice. They have the three-guideway X axis, and they are the only group on which Y-axis ballscrew support is standard; on narrower models it is an option. A cross-beam spanning more than three and a half metres needs a long Y screw, and supporting it protects positioning accuracy across the whole width.
Three metres of table width opens work that narrower bridges cannot take: large platens, circular parts such as slewing rings and flanges, and wide welded structures. The load rating of 21,000 kg is only a little above the HSA-532's, so the gain is in size more than in weight.
Spindles are #50 in gear (6,000 / 8,000 rpm), DDS (10,000 / 12,000 rpm) and built-in (12,000 rpm) form, with 15 / 18.5 kW and options to 30 /37 kW. Z travel: 780 mm, optionally 1,000 mm or 1,200 mm. Tools: 32, or 40 or 60.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Table of 5,000 x 3,000 mm (196.9 x 118.1 in) with 3,600 mm (141.7 in) of Y travel
- Y-axis ballscrew support standard on the x36 series, per Hartford
- Three X-axis linear guideways
- 21,000 kg (46,296 lb) table load
- Three #50 spindle drives with motors to 30 /37 kW
Limitations
- Load rating rises only slightly over the HSA-532's 20,000 kg (44,092 lb)
- Z travel of 780 mm as standard on a three-metre-wide table
- No spindle faster than 12,000 rpm
- Accuracy figures for the long Y axis are not published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table is 5,000 x 3,000 mm (196.9 x 118.1 in) and Y travel is 3,600 mm (141.7 in). X travel is 5,000 mm (196.9 in).
02
Y-axis ballscrew support. Hartford states it is the standard configuration for the HSA-x36 series and an option for the HSA-x23/x27/x28 series.
03
21,000 kg (46,296 lb) as an average load. The longer HSA-636, with a 6,000 x 3,000 mm (236.2 x 118.1 in) table, takes 24,000 kg (52,910 lb).
04
780 mm as listed, with 1,000 mm and 1,200 mm as options. The Z axis runs on four linear guideways with a nitrogen counterweight.
