How much does the Goodway GV-1100 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Goodway GV-1100 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Goodway GV-1100 is a ram-type vertical turning lathe with a Ø1,100 mm (43.3 in) table, a moving cross rail and a BT50 tool changer. It turns parts up to Ø1,200 mm (47.2 in) in diameter, 1,000 mm (39.4 in) high and 4,000 kg (8,818 lb) in weight, and is the smallest of the four GV-1 models.
The cross rail is the W-axis. On this model it travels 600 mm (23.6 in), and Goodway's reason for it is rigidity: the rail is lowered so that the ram works with the shortest possible overhang, whatever the height of the part. Ram travel in Z is 900 mm (35.4 in) and X travel 1,300 mm (51.2 in), on box ways.
A 37 kW (49.6 hp) continuous, 45 kW (60.3 hp) 30 min. motor drives the table through a two-speed gearbox. Maximum table torque is 10,170 Nm (7,501 lb-ft). That figure is the lowest in the series, where the GV-1600 reaches 23,900 Nm (17,629 lb-ft), so the GV-1100 is the model for smaller rings and housings and not for the heaviest interrupted cuts.
Tools are held in a BT50 ram and exchanged from a 12-position magazine; the larger models have 16. With the M variation the ram becomes a tooling spindle rated 7.5 kW (10.1 hp) continuous and 11 kW (14.8 hp) for 30 min., turning 2 ~ 2,400 rpm, and the table gains a Cf-type C-axis with a worm gear drive. Control is the FANUC Oi-TF Plus. The table lists no maximum table speed.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- W-axis cross rail with 600 mm (23.6 in) of travel keeps ram overhang short
- 37 kW (49.6 hp) continuous, 45 kW (60.3 hp) 30 min. table drive with two-speed gearbox
- BT50 automatic tool changer with 12 positions
- Box ways on X and Z with a Meehanite base and column cast as one piece
- Optional milling: 2,400 rpm tooling spindle and Cf-axis
Limitations
- Table load is 4,000 kg (8,818 lb), the lowest in the GV-1 series
- Table torque of 10,170 Nm (7,501 lb-ft) is under half that of the GV-1600
- The magazine holds 12 tools, where the larger models hold 16
- Goodway's table gives no maximum table speed

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Table diameter is Ø1,100 mm (43.3 in), swing Ø1,400 mm (55.1 in), maximum turning diameter Ø1,200 mm (47.2 in), maximum turning height 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and maximum table load 4,000 kg (8,818 lb).
02
The moving cross rail. It travels 600 mm (23.6 in) on this model and 800 mm (31.5 in) on the GV-1200. Goodway says it lets the machine cut with the shortest ram overhang for the highest cutting rigidity, and shows a positioning and clamping mechanism for it.
03
As an option. The M variation has a tooling spindle rated 7.5 kW (10.1 hp) continuous and 11 kW (14.8 hp) for 30 min., running 2 ~ 2,400 rpm through a 2-speed gear box, plus a Cf-axis with 0.001° indexing. The taper is BT50.

Both have a Ø1,100 mm (43.3 in) table, Ø1,200 mm (47.2 in) turning diameter and the same motor and torque. The GVF-1112 has a fixed beam, 900 mm (35.4 in) of turning height and no W-axis. The GV-1100 has the moving cross rail and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of turning height.
