Goodway GVH-2500 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Goodway GVH-2500 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Goodway or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

With a Ø2,500 mm (98.4 in) table rated for 15,000 kg (33,069 lb), the Goodway GVH-2500 is the larger of the two one-piece-column machines in the SUPER GV series. It turns Ø2,800 mm (110.2 in) under a Ø3,000 mm (118.1 in) swing.

Most of the specification is shared with the GVH-2000, including the 60 kW (80.5 hp) continuous and 75 kW (100.6 hp) 30 min. motor. The differences are the ones that follow from the bigger table: 3,080 mm (121.3 in) of X travel, half as much again in load rating, and 74,140 Nm (54,686 lb-ft) of torque. Since the motor is the same, the extra torque must come from gearing, which implies a lower table speed range. Goodway's table gives no speeds for either model.

Turning height is 1,700 mm (66.9 in) in the standard version and 2,100 mm (82.7 in) in the tall one. The cross rail travels 1,200 mm (47.2 in) or 1,600 mm (63.0 in) on the W-axis and is clamped by a positioning mechanism that Goodway illustrates on the series page. Ram stroke in Z is 1,200 mm (47.2 in) or 1,500 mm (59.1 in).

A part that weighs fifteen tonnes is rarely moved twice by choice. For that reason the options matter more here than on a small lathe: the BT50 tooling spindle, rated 11 kW (14.8 hp) continuous and 15 kW (20.1 hp) for 30 min., the Cf-axis and the twin ram let milling, drilling and second-tool turning happen in the one clamping. Sixteen tools are stored. The CNC is the FANUC Oi-TF Plus.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) table load on a Ø2,500 mm (98.4 in) table
  • 74,140 Nm (54,686 lb-ft) of maximum spindle torque
  • Ø2,800 mm (110.2 in) turning diameter with 3,080 mm (121.3 in) of X travel
  • Two height versions, up to 2,100 mm (82.7 in) of turning height
  • One-piece column and structure, as Goodway describes the GVH series

Limitations

  • Uses the same 60 kW (80.5 hp) continuous motor as the smaller GVH-2000
  • No table speed is given in the specification
  • The 16-tool magazine is small for long multi-operation cycles
  • Tooling spindle, C-axis and twin ram are options

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What does the GVH-2500 add over the GVH-2000?

A larger table and more torque. The GVH-2500 has a Ø2,500 mm (98.4 in) table, turns Ø2,800 mm (110.2 in), carries 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) and delivers 74,140 Nm (54,686 lb-ft). The GVH-2000 has a Ø2,000 mm (78.7 in) table, carries 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) and delivers 59,700 Nm (44,035 lb-ft).

02 How tall a workpiece fits the GVH-2500?

Maximum turning height is 1,700 mm (66.9 in) or 2,100 mm (82.7 in), depending on the version. W-axis travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in) or 1,600 mm (63.0 in) and Z-axis travel 1,200 mm (47.2 in) or 1,500 mm (59.1 in).

03 What motor drives the GVH-2500 table?

A workpiece spindle motor rated 60 kW (80.5 hp) continuous and 75 kW (100.6 hp) on the 30 min. rating, through a 2-speed gear box. Goodway states that the workpiece spindle runs on an ultra-rigid crossed roller bearing.

04 Which control and tool system does the GVH-2500 use?

The control is FANUC Oi-TF Plus. The tool magazine holds 16 tools with a BT50 taper, and Goodway mentions optional umbrella-type magazines in 16T and 24T sizes for the series.
