Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fryer MC-100B that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
At 100 in (2,540 mm) of X travel the Fryer MC-100B is the longest machine in the MC-B box way series. The table measures 30 x 112 in (762 x 2,845 mm), the door opens 105 in (2,667 mm) and the machine weighs 26,000 lb (11,794 kg). It is built for parts that are long rather than tall: Y is 35 in (889 mm) and Z is 30 in (762 mm).
Speed is what the length takes away. The cutting feed rate is limited to 400 ipm (10.2 m/min). That matters little on a long milling pass and a lot on a pattern of holes spread along the part, where most of the cycle is positioning.
Load capacity does not grow with the table. Fryer rates it at 5,500 lb (2,495 kg) evenly distributed, the same as the MC-80B, so a long part must also be a reasonably light one, or be supported so that the weight is spread.
Fryer adds a note on chip handling for this model alone: the MC-100B uses a dual auger/conveyor system that travels from the front to the back of the machine. Spindle, tool changer and accuracy rows are common to the series, with a CAT 40 spindle of 30 hp (22.4 kW) peak at 60 - 8,500 rpm and a 24 station arm type changer. The extended 40 in (1,016 mm) Y and 34 in (864 mm) Z travels are options.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 100 in (2,540 mm) of X travel, the longest in the MC-B series
- 30 x 112 in (762 x 2,845 mm) table behind a 105 in (2,667 mm) door opening
- 26,000 lb (11,794 kg) of machine on box ways with 1.97 in (50 mm) ballscrews
- Dual auger/conveyor system that travels from the front to the back of the machine
- Same +/- 0.0002 in (0.0051 mm) positioning accuracy row as the short models
Limitations
- Cutting feed rate is limited to 400 ipm (10.2 m/min), against 900 ipm (22.9 m/min) on the MC-60B
- Table load stays at 5,500 lb (2,495 kg) even with a 112 in (2,845 mm) table
- Floor space is 240 x 122 in (6,096 x 3,099 mm), and the machine ships at 240 x 94 x 96 in (6,096 x 2,388 x 2,438 mm)
- Z travel is 30 in (762 mm) unless the extended 34 in (864 mm) option is ordered

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 100 in (2,540 mm) and the table is 112 in (2,845 mm) long by 30 in (762 mm) deep. The door opening is 105 in (2,667 mm). Y travel is 35 in (889 mm), or 40 in (1,016 mm) with the extended travel option.
02
Fryer's table gives 0.001 to 400 ipm (up to 10.2 m/min) for the cutting feed rate. The tool change takes 3 seconds. The spindle runs 60 - 8,500 rpm in the standard version.
03
5,500 lb (2,495 kg), evenly distributed. That is the same rating as the MC-80B, whose table is 30 x 93 in (762 x 2,362 mm), so the extra table length of the MC-100B adds room, not capacity. The table has 5 T-slots 0.708 in (18 mm) wide.
04
A footnote on Fryer's specification sheet says the MC-100B uses a dual auger/conveyor system that travels from the front to the back of the machine. The options sheet lists the dual chip auger system for machines with 70" - 100" of X travel. Coolant capacity is 90 gal (341 L).
