How much does the Fidia Go9 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fidia Go9 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fidia Go9 is a 5-axis gantry machining centre built around a trunnion table: 800 mm (31.5 in) of X, 900 mm (+330 mm) of Y and 620 mm (24.4 in) of Z over a Ø 800 mm (31.5 in) roto-tilting table. The machine weighs 24,000 kg (52,910 lb) on a footprint of 4,400 x 3,200 mm (173.2 x 126.0 in). That is a great deal of iron for this envelope.
The mass is deliberate. The single-piece U-frame base is cast iron, the gantry Y axis has a dual motor and dual optical scale, and the ball screws on X, Y and Z are C3 class with coolant running through them. A dedicated chiller serves the screws and the rotary motors, and the spindle has its own. The design aims at holding size through long cycles in hardened steel as much as at speed, though the linear axes still reach 48 m/min.
On the TRT/800 table, A swings ±125° and C is endless, both on cooled torque motors with direct encoders and a positional resolution of 0.001°. Maximum load is listed as 1,200 / 950 kg; ask Fidia which condition each figure applies to. Clamping torque of 3,000 Nm on C and 6,000 Nm on A lets the table hold position for heavy positional cuts without leaning on the motors.
The standard spindle is the M3A/32-18 at 18,000 rpm with 26 kW S1 / 32 kW S6 and 124 Nm S1 / 154 Nm S6, grease lubricated. The optional M3A/35-24 runs to 24,000 rpm on air/oil lubrication with less torque, 83 Nm S1 / 119 Nm S6. Both take HSK-A63. A 48-pocket chain magazine is standard and a 96-pocket disk magazine is optional. Fidia offers its nC19 and C20 controls, and the machine is also available with Siemens Sinumerik ONE.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 24,000 kg (52,910 lb) cast iron machine on a 4,400 x 3,200 mm (173.2 x 126.0 in) footprint, with no special foundation required by the maker
- Torque motors with direct encoders on A and C, two of them on the A cradle, at 0.001° positional resolution
- Table clamping torque of 3,000 Nm on C and 6,000 Nm on A for heavy positional cuts
- Dedicated chillers for the XYZ ball screws, the rotary motors and the spindle
- 48-pocket chain magazine as standard, with a 96-pocket disk magazine as an option
Limitations
- X travel is 800 mm (31.5 in), so despite its weight this is a machine for compact workpieces
- The 24,000 rpm M3A/35-24 spindle is an option and drops torque to 83 Nm S1 / 119 Nm S6
- 24,000 kg (52,910 lb) needs floor capacity and rigging planned, even without a special foundation
- Both spindles are HSK-A63; no larger taper is listed for heavy roughing tools

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The TRT/800 table is Ø 800 mm (31.5 in) with a maximum swing of Ø 1,000 mm (39.4 in), and maximum load is listed as 1,200 / 950 kg. Linear travels are 800 mm (31.5 in) in X, 900 mm (+330 mm) in Y and 620 mm (24.4 in) in Z.
02
Standard is the M3A/32-18: 18,000 rpm, 26 kW S1 / 32 kW S6 and 124 Nm S1 / 154 Nm S6, with permanent grease lubrication. The optional M3A/35-24 reaches 24,000 rpm with 25 kW S1 / 35 kW S6 and 83 Nm S1 / 119 Nm S6 on air/oil lubrication. Both use HSK-A63.
03
By three cooled torque motors, two on the A axis cradle and one on C, with direct encoders on both axes. A travels ±125° and C is endless. Clamping torque is 3,000 Nm on C and 6,000 Nm on A, and positional resolution is 0.001°.
04
Fidia lists its own nC19 and C20 controls as the available CNC systems and states that the machine is also available with the Siemens Sinumerik ONE control. The choice affects post-processors and operator training, so settle it before ordering.
05
Fidia says no. The single-piece U-frame base is cast iron and the complete machine weighs 24,000 kg (52,910 lb), so the floor still has to carry that load over a footprint of 4,400 x 3,200 mm (173.2 x 126.0 in).
