Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fidia BRIDGE 2 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fidia BRIDGE 2 is the smallest of three sizes in Fidia's fixed-portal, moving-table 5-axis line. It travels 2,200 mm (86 in) in X, 1,750 mm (69 in) in Y and 1,000 mm (39 in) in Z over a 2,000 x 1,600 mm (79 x 63 in) table rated for 6,000 kg (13,228 lb).
A fixed portal means the table carries the part along X while the crossbeam stays put. Fidia supports the table over its whole stroke on roller guides and drives it with a C3-class ballscrew. The Y carriage runs on 3 roller guides set on two sides of the crossbeam, and the vertical ram is driven by two ballscrews with brushless motors in tandem. The structures are cast iron.
Milling is done by the M5A bi-rotary head, with A travel of -95° / +110° and C travel of ±360°. Two spindles are offered. The M5A/55-24 runs to 24,000 1/min with 55 kW and 89 Nm on HSK-A63; the M5A/65-15 runs to 15,000 1/min with 65 kW and 124 Nm on HSK-A100. Pick the first for finishing moulds and aluminium, the second where larger cutters in steel and cast iron dominate.
The BRIDGE 3 adds length and width: 3,200 mm (126 in) of X and 2,250 mm (88 in) of Y. If the work is mostly moulds, prototypes and models that fit a 2,000 x 1,600 mm (79 x 63 in) table, this size keeps the same head, the same Z and a tool magazine with up to 60 positions.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Fixed portal with a table supported over its entire stroke, so there is no overhang at the ends of X
- M5A bi-rotary head with A travel of -95° / +110° and C travel of ±360°
- Two spindle choices: 24,000 1/min with 55 kW on HSK-A63, or 15,000 1/min with 65 kW and 124 Nm on HSK-A100
- Table of 2,000 x 1,600 mm (79 x 63 in) rated for 6,000 kg (13,228 lb)
- Tool magazine with up to 60 positions
Limitations
- Y travel of 1,750 mm (69 in) is the narrowest in the range; the BRIDGE 3 lists 2,250 mm (88 in)
- Z travel is 1,000 mm (39 in) on every size, so tall parts gain nothing from a larger model
- The part rides on the moving table: the 6,000 kg (13,228 lb) limit includes fixtures and is accelerated on every X move
- The 65 kW spindle stops at 15,000 1/min and the 24,000 1/min spindle offers 89 Nm, so no single spindle covers both extremes

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Travels are 2,200 mm (86 in) in X, 1,750 mm (69 in) in Y and 1,000 mm (39 in) in Z. The table measures 2,000 x 1,600 mm (79 x 63 in) and carries a maximum load of 6,000 kg (13,228 lb).
02
Two, both in the M5A bi-rotary head. The M5A/55-24 gives 24,000 1/min, 55 kW and 89 Nm with an HSK-A63 toolholder. The M5A/65-15 gives 15,000 1/min, 65 kW and 124 Nm with HSK-A100. The power figures are maximum continuous power.
03
Only in size. The BRIDGE 3 has 3,200 mm (126 in) of X and 2,250 mm (88 in) of Y with a table load of 8,000 kg (17,637 lb), against 2,200 mm (86 in), 1,750 mm (69 in) and 6,000 kg (13,228 lb) here. Z travel and the head options are the same.
04
No. It has a fixed portal and a moving table: the workpiece travels in X on the table, while the Y carriage and the vertical ram move on the fixed crossbeam. Fidia states that the table is supported throughout its entire stroke, which removes overhang at the ends of travel.
