How much does the Feeler VFP-1000 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler VFP-1000 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
One metre of X on a hybrid-guideway frame: the Feeler VFP-1000 has 1,020 mm (40.2 in) of X travel, 520 mm (20.5 in) of Y and 505 mm (19.9 in) of Z, with a 1,150 x 520 mm (45.3 x 20.5 in) table that carries 800 kg (1,764 lb).
Feeler makes three other verticals with this same envelope, so the question is what the VFP does differently. The answer in the maker's text is the Z axis. X and Y run on high-precision linear guides; Z is a box way. A drilling-heavy job, such as a manifold or a flange plate with dozens of deep holes, loads the Z axis in thrust all day, and that is the axis this design stiffens. The VMX-1020 and VMP-40 are not described that way.
The spindle listed is 10,000 rpm with a 7/24 No.40 taper, belt-driven as standard. An optional direct-drive spindle is offered, and Feeler quotes speeds up to 15,000 rpm for the series' configurations, saying the choice provides both high speed and high torque. Rapid traverse is 36 m/min (1,417 ipm) on X and Y and 30 m/min (1,181 ipm) on Z.
There are 24 tools in this model's column. The series text mentions a 22 or 24-station arm-type magazine as standard with 30 stations optional, and tool change times as fast as 1.7 seconds. A-frame columns and a heavy base are named as the structural basis. Request spindle power and torque for the belt and direct-drive versions before choosing between them.

Partly. According to Feeler, the X and Y axes use high-precision linear guides and the Z axis features box way construction. For box ways on all three axes Feeler offers the VBX series, starting with the VBX-1100.
03
Feeler says the machines come standard with a 22 or 24-station arm-type tool magazine, optionally 30 stations, with tool change times as fast as 1.7 seconds. The VFP-1000 column lists 24 tools.

The VFP-1300 is a larger frame: 1,300 x 610 x 560 mm travels, a 1,420 x 600 mm table and 1,500 kg of load. Its rapids are 32 m/min on X and 24 m/min on Y and Z in the VFP-1300 column.
