How much does the Hwacheon VESTA-650T cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hwacheon VESTA-650T that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hwacheon VESTA-650T is a twin-spindle vertical machining center: two BBT-40 spindles side by side, each with its own vertical axis (Z and W, 700 mm (27.6 in) each), sharing 650 x 650 mm (25.6 x 25.6 in) of X and Y travel over a 1,400 x 600 mm (55.1 x 23.6 in) table. It is meant to cut two identical parts in one cycle rather than one large part.
The spindles sit 525 mm (20.7 in) apart as standard, with 575 or 625 mm (22.6 / 24.6 in) as options. That spacing fixes how far apart the two fixtures stand on the table and so sets the width of the part each station can take; anyone running wider parts should specify one of the wider spacings at order, because it is built into the head. The long table against short X travel follows from the layout: the table carries two work zones, and each spindle only has to cover its own.
Spindle speed is 12,000 or 15,000 rpm, direct drive, rated 18.5 / 11 kW (24.8 / 14.8 hp), with jacket cooling through an oil cooler. The 12K spindle has grease-lubricated bearings and the 15K air-oil. Rapids are 48 / 48 / 40 / 40 m/min (1,890 / 1,890 / 1,575 / 1,575 ipm) on X, Y, Z and W, which keeps non-cutting time short on small parts.
Each spindle has its own 30-tool magazine (Left: 30 / Right: 30), memory random, for tools up to Ø78 mm (Ø3.1 in) with neighbours loaded or Ø100 mm (Ø3.9 in) without, 300 mm (11.8 in) long and 8 kg (18 lb). The machine weighs 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), stands 3,485 mm (137.2 in) tall and draws 63 kVA, so check the shop supply before delivery.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two spindles with separate Z and W axes of 700 mm (27.6 in) machine two parts per cycle
- Spindle spacing of 525 mm (20.7 in), with 575 or 625 mm (22.6 / 24.6 in) available as options for wider parts
- Rapid traverse of 48 / 48 / 40 / 40 m/min (1,890 / 1,890 / 1,575 / 1,575 ipm) on X, Y, Z and W
- Separate 30-tool magazines for the left and right spindles, so each side keeps its own tool set
- Direct-drive 12,000 or 15,000 rpm spindles with oil-cooler jacket cooling; the 15K version runs air-oil lubricated bearings
- Spindle nose to table distance of 150 ~ 850 mm (5.9 ~ 33.5 in) leaves room for tall fixtures and long tools
Limitations
- X travel is only 650 mm (25.6 in), so a single long part cannot use the 1,400 mm (55.1 in) table length
- Table load is 800 kg (1,764 lb) for both fixtures and both parts together
- Tools without empty neighbouring pockets are limited to Ø78 mm (Ø3.1 in), and to Ø100 mm (Ø3.9 in) even with them empty
- Needs a 63 kVA supply and floor for a 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), 3,485 mm (137.2 in) tall machine
- Spindle spacing is chosen at order: 525, 575 or 625 mm (20.7, 22.6 or 24.6 in)

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Two spindles, each on its own vertical axis (Z and W, both 700 mm (27.6 in)), and two magazines of 30 tools each, listed as Left: 30 / Right: 30. Both use memory random tool selection and BBT-40 shanks with a MAS P40T-1 (45˚) pull stud.
02
The spindle centers are 525 mm (20.7 in) apart as standard, with 575 mm (22.6 in) and 625 mm (24.6 in) as options. Since both spindles share one X and Y motion, the spacing is also the distance between matching points on the two fixtures, so choose it from the widest part you plan to run.
03
The VESTA-1100 is a single-spindle machine with a 1,300 x 600 mm (51.2 x 23.6 in) table, one 30-tool magazine and a weight of 5,900 kg (13,007 lb). The VESTA-650T has two spindles and two 30-tool magazines on a 1,400 x 600 mm (55.1 x 23.6 in) table, weighs 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) and carries 800 kg (1,764 lb) on the table.
04
A 63 kVA supply, air at 0.5 ~ 0.7 MPa x 690 NL/min, a floor space of 2,734 x 3,920 mm (107.6 x 154.3 in) and 3,485 mm (137.2 in) of height. The machine weighs 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) and the coolant tank holds 420 L (111 US gal).
