How much does the Feeler VBX-1100 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler VBX-1100 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Feeler VBX-1100 is a box way vertical machining center for heavy cutting, the smallest of six VBX models. Travels are 1,100 mm (43.3 in) in X, 610 mm (24.0 in) in Y and 600 mm (23.6 in) in Z, and the table is 1,300 x 600 mm (51.2 x 23.6 in) with a 1,300 kg (2,866 lb) rating.
Box ways on all three axes are the reason the series exists. Feeler describes them as extra-wide, heat treated, precision ground and coated with Turcite B. Sliding ways of this kind damp vibration better than rolling guides and tolerate interrupted cuts and heavy side loads, at the cost of speed: rapid traverse here is 24 m/min (945 ipm) on every axis, against 36 m/min on the linear-guide VMP-45 of the same travels.
The spindle row reads 10,000/4,000 rpm and the taper row 7/24 Taper No.40/No.50, so the machine is offered in both taper sizes; by the order of the entries, 4,000 rpm belongs to the No.50 spindle. On a box way machine bought for roughing steel, the 50-taper version is the natural match. The magazine holds 24 tools.
The casting is Meehanite, and the feed screws are tied into an automatic lubrication system. Feeler says the structure was checked by finite element analysis and dynamic simulation at the design stage. Power and torque, the two numbers a heavy-cutting buyer wants first, are not printed on the series page.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Extra-wide box ways on X, Y and Z, coated with Turcite B
- Offered with a No.40 or a No.50 spindle taper
- 1,300 kg (2,866 lb) table load on a 1,300 x 600 mm table
- Equal 24 m/min (945 ipm) rapids on all three axes
- Meehanite cast iron body with automatic lubrication of the feed screw system
Limitations
- Rapids of 24 m/min are well below the 36 m/min of the linear-guide VMP-45
- Table load of 1,300 kg is lower than the 1,500 kg of the VMP-45
- 4,000 rpm on the second spindle listing rules out small-tool finishing
- No spindle power or torque on the series page

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Yes. Feeler states that all three axes feature extra-wide box way construction, and that each axis guideway is heat treated, precision ground and coated with Turcite B to minimize wear.
02
The column is headed VBX-1100 (#40/50). The taper row reads 7/24 Taper No.40/No.50 and the speed row 10,000/4,000 rpm, which pairs 10,000 rpm with No.40 and 4,000 rpm with No.50 if the entries follow the same order. Power is not given.
03
1,100 x 610 x 600 mm (43.3 x 24.0 x 23.6 in) with a 1,300 x 600 mm (51.2 x 23.6 in) table. Maximum loading weight is 1,300 kg (2,866 lb) and the magazine holds 24 tools.

X travel and table length. The VBX-1300 has 1,300 mm of X and a 1,500 x 600 mm table. Y, Z, the 1,300 kg rating, spindle options, 24 m/min rapids and 24 tools are the same.
