Overview
With 750 mm (29.5 in) of X travel and a 750x600 mm swivel-rotary table, the Emco UMILL 750 is the mid-size machine in Emco's simultaneous 5-axis range. It keeps the moving-column layout of the smaller UMILL 630 and scales up the table, the load and the magazine.
Table load is 400 kg (882 lb). The table is carried on torque motors with direct measuring systems and a front support, and it swivels +/- 100°. That swivel range allows undercuts and the far side of a part to be reached without re-clamping, as long as the part and fixture clear the 150/650 mm between spindle nose and table.
The base tool changer has 40 stations here, with 60 or 90 optional. Y travel is 610 mm (24.0 in) and Z 500 mm (19.7 in). The motor spindle is offered as 50-15000 / 24000 rpm with 26 / 46 kW and 110 Nm (81.1 lb-ft); choose the faster one for small tools in aluminium or graphite and the slower one for general work.
At 9,000 kg (19,841 lb) the machine is noticeably heavier than the smaller model for a modest gain in footprint, 2,850 x 3,680 x 3,060 mm (112.2 x 144.9 x 120.5 in). Linear scales in X, Y and Z are standard. Emco offers Siemens or Heidenhain controls, and EMCONNECT is available on the Sinumerik ONE.
