Emco Powermill — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Emco Powermill that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Emco or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Bulky, heavy workpieces are what Emco built the Powermill for. This gantry milling machine has a longitudinal travel of 6000 mm and more (in parts of 2000 mm), a cross travel of 4000 / 5000 / 6000 / 7000 mm and a vertical travel of 1500 / 2000 / 2500 mm, with a box-in-box structure around a ram of 550 x 640 mm.

Emco stresses flexible use, from aerospace to general engineering, and a design that keeps positioning, set-up and clamping of the workpiece easy. On a gantry the part rests on the floor or a plate between the rails and nothing but the bridge moves, so part weight is not a limit in the way it is on a table machine. The options list shows how far the machine can be taken: an automatic head changer, a double CNC platform, a 120-pocket tool changer and a tool cooling system.

Cutting data match the size. The spindle motor is 40 kW 1200 Nm, the universal head is rated 38 / 57 kW (S1 / S6) and 1000 / 1550 Nm (S1 / S6), and its speed is 15 ÷ 6000 rpm (option: 15 ÷ 8000 rpm). Finishing is done with one of the high-speed spindles, for instance 50 / 63 kW, 100 / 125 Nm (S1 / S6), 12000 / 20000 rpm, HSK 100-A / HSK 63-A.

The longitudinal axis grows in 2000 mm sections, which lets the machine be matched to the bay. Feed rate is 30 m/min (1,181 ipm). Coolant is supplied at 28 l/min, 6 bar externally and 20 l/min; 20 / 40 / 60 bar through the spindle.
