Overview
The Heller HF 3500 is a 5-axis machining center with travels of 710 mm in X, 750 mm in Y and 710 mm in Z, built in two versions: a pallet changer version with a 500 x 500 mm pallet and a table loading version with a Ø 630 mm table (Ø 710 mm clamping plate). Both rotary axes are on the workpiece side. The A axis is a swivel table and the B axis an NC rotary indexing table, and Heller lists both as continuous.
The version decides the part height. Heller gives a maximum workpiece diameter of Ø 710 mm, with 630 mm of height on the pallet changer version and 690 mm with table loading. Table load is 550 kg, and 650 kg is listed in conjunction with Enforced-Drive in Z as an optional / PRO value. On a swivel table the fixture counts against that figure and the load is carried at an angle, so leave more margin than on a flat pallet.
