Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Ecoca MT-415MC that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
In the Ecoca MT-415MC, the milling spindle turns faster than the main one. Driven tools are listed at 3,200 rpm, while the 15 in (381 mm) chuck is limited to 2,500 rpm. That inversion is normal on a large-chuck turn-mill machine and it frames the job well: slow, heavy turning of big workpieces, followed by drilling, tapping and slotting without taking the part out.
The workpieces in question are long. This model is offered on five beds with 730 / 1,000 / 1,500 / 2,000 / 2,980 mm (28.7 / 39.4 / 59.1 / 78.7 / 117.3 in) of turning length. Re-fixturing a shaft of 2 metres or more on a milling machine means cranes, vee blocks and re-indicating. Doing the flats and holes in the lathe, with the part still between chuck and tailstock, removes that step and keeps the features true to the turned diameters.
Maximum turning diameter is 440 mm (17.3 in). The two-axis MT-415 reaches 510 mm (20.1 in), so the MC turret costs some radial room, as it does on the MT-412MC. Swing over the bed stays at 690 mm (27.2 in) and the main motor at 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp).
Some details are left to the quotation. Ecoca gives no rating for the milling drive, lists no Y axis, and marks holders and sleeves for the living tool as optional. The weight row in the series table is misprinted, so ask for the weight of the chosen bed length. Standard equipment includes the hydraulic chuck, hydraulic tailstock, coolant and auto lubrication systems and a heat exchanger.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Milling at 3,200 rpm on a machine with a 15 in (381 mm) chuck
- Turning lengths up to 2,980 mm (117.3 in), so long parts are finished in one setup
- 440 mm (17.3 in) turning diameter and 690 mm (27.2 in) swing over the bed
- 12 tool stations on a servo or hydraulic turret
Limitations
- Main spindle limited to 2,500 rpm
- Turning diameter is 440 mm (17.3 in) where the MT-415 offers 510 mm (20.1 in)
- Milling drive power, torque and any Y axis are absent from the table
- Living tool holders are optional and the published weight row is unreliable

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The main spindle is listed at 2,500 rpm and the milling spindle at 3,200 rpm. The main spindle drive motor is 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp). Ecoca's table does not give a power figure for the milling drive.
02
Up to 440 mm (17.3 in) in turning diameter, with turning lengths of 730, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 or 2,980 mm (28.7, 39.4, 59.1, 78.7 or 117.3 in) depending on the bed. Swing over the cross slide is 480 mm (18.9 in).
03
Both mill at 3,200 rpm and turn 440 mm (17.3 in). The MT-415MC has a 15 in (381 mm) chuck and 2,500 rpm at the main spindle, which favours heavy workpieces. The MT-412MC has a 12 in (305 mm) chuck and 3,200 rpm, which favours lighter parts and smaller diameters.
04
Yes. The standard accessories list has a hydraulic tailstock and a live center, alongside the 3-jaw hydraulic chuck, soft jaw, hydraulic system, coolant system, auto lubrication system and heat exchanger.
