Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Ecoca MT-415 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Ecoca MT-415 carries a 15 in (381 mm) chuck on the MT-4 long-bed frame, turning at up to 2,500 rpm. It is the heavy-workpiece member of a pair: the MT-412 uses the same bed, slides and 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) motor with a 12 in (305 mm) chuck and 3,200 rpm.
A maximum turning diameter of 510 mm (20.1 in) and turning lengths that reach 2,980 mm (117.3 in) point to large shafts, rolls and pipe. Workpieces like that are heavy, and the weight hangs on the chuck and the tailstock. This is where the larger chuck earns its place, because a bigger body and longer jaws carry the load and the cutting forces with more margin. The hydraulic tailstock and live center that support the other end are standard.
Speed is modest by design. At 2,500 rpm large diameters finish comfortably, but small ones will run below ideal surface speed, so this isn't a machine for mixed small work. Ecoca does not publish torque or mention a gear range for it.
Buyers can pick from five beds, with turning lengths of 730 / 1,000 / 1,500 / 2,000 / 2,980 mm (28.7 / 39.4 / 59.1 / 78.7 / 117.3 in). Swing over the bed is 690 mm (27.2 in). The 12-station turret comes as a servo or hydraulic unit, and the ways are listed as HARD RAIL. Ecoca's weight row for the series has a misprint in it, so ask for the weight of your bed length. For still larger work, the MT-415 PLUS keeps the chuck size and moves to an 830 mm (32.7 in) swing and a 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp) motor.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A 15 in (381 mm) chuck and a spindle speed of 2,500 rpm. The spindle drive motor is listed as 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp). A 3-jaw hydraulic chuck with soft jaw is part of the standard accessories.
02
The MT-415 PLUS is a larger machine with the same chuck size and speed, listing an 830 mm (32.7 in) swing over the bed, a 750 mm (29.5 in) turning diameter, turning lengths up to 3,970 mm (156.3 in) and a 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp) motor. The MT-415 swings 690 mm (27.2 in) and turns 510 mm (20.1 in).
03
Five: 730, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 and 2,980 mm (28.7, 39.4, 59.1, 78.7 and 117.3 in). Ecoca describes the series as offering a 3-meter turning length on a 690mm swing.
04
The table lists HARD RAIL guideways, meaning box ways. The bed is a 30 degree slant design, which Ecoca says is for easy operation and easy chip removal. The turret is a 12-station unit, offered as servo or hydraulic.
