Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Ecoca MT-412MC that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Ecoca MT-412MC exists because long shafts often need more than turning. Keyways, wrench flats, cross-drilled oil holes and drive slots are common on exactly the kind of part that fills a 2 or 3 metre bed, and moving such a part to a mill for them is slow and awkward. This model is the MT-412 with a milling function, built to finish those features in the lathe.
Its milling spindle is listed at 3,200 rpm, the same figure as the main spindle. Compared with the 5,000 rpm of the MT-310MC that is slow, and it tells you what the driven tools are for: larger drills, taps and end mills in steel, not small cutters at high speed. Ecoca prints no milling power or torque, so confirm the drive rating against the biggest tool you intend to run.
Capacity is close to the two-axis model. Turning length is offered in the same five steps, 730 / 1,000 / 1,500 / 2,000 / 2,980 mm (28.7 / 39.4 / 59.1 / 78.7 / 117.3 in). Turning diameter is 440 mm (17.3 in), where the MT-412 allows 510 mm (20.1 in). The chuck is 12 in (305 mm), the motor 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp), and the turret has 12 stations in either servo or hydraulic form.
Two gaps in the published data should be closed before ordering. The weight row of the series table contains a misprint, so the machine weight has to come from Ecoca directly. And the table shows no Y axis, which means milled features sit on the centreline unless Ecoca confirms otherwise. Living tool holders and sleeves are optional.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Milling function on beds up to 2,980 mm (117.3 in) of turning length
- 440 mm (17.3 in) turning diameter with a 12 in (305 mm) chuck
- 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) main motor and a 12-station turret
- Hydraulic tailstock and live center are standard accessories
Limitations
- Milling spindle speed is 3,200 rpm, well under the 5,000 rpm of the MT-310MC
- Turning diameter falls to 440 mm (17.3 in), from 510 mm (20.1 in) on the MT-412
- No Y axis, milling power or torque in the table
- Machine weight is not usable from Ecoca's table because of a misprint in that row

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The milling speed row gives 3,200 rpm. The main spindle is also rated at 3,200 rpm, with an 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) drive motor. That speed suits medium and large drills, taps and end mills more than very small tools.
02
The turning lengths are identical, from 730 mm (28.7 in) to 2,980 mm (117.3 in) in five steps. Maximum turning diameter is 440 mm (17.3 in) on the MT-412MC and 510 mm (20.1 in) on the MT-412. Swing over the bed, 690 mm (27.2 in), is unchanged.
03
Ecoca says a servo turret or hydraulic turret is offered as an alternative choice for the series, with a large disc for easy tool set up. The table lists 12 tool stations. Holders and sleeves for the living tool are optional.
04
The MT-415MC has a 15 in (381 mm) chuck and a main spindle speed of 2,500 rpm. Its milling speed, 440 mm (17.3 in) turning diameter and five turning lengths are the same as on the MT-412MC.
