Overview
Nine and a half tonnes of lathe for two-metre work: the Accuway UT-360LX2 weighs 9,500 kg (20,944 lb) and has 2,250 mm (88.6 in) of Z travel. Maximum turning length is 2,130 mm (83.9 in) with the A2-8 nose and 2,050 mm (80.7 in) with the A2-11 noses, at a turning diameter of 540 mm (21.3 in).
So what does it do that the UT-300LX2 cannot? Both have the same Z travel and the same 5.5 x 2.3 x 2.2 m (216.5 x 90.6 x 86.6 in) outline. The UT-360LX2 has the stronger motor, 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp), the larger saddle swing of 600 mm (23.6 in) and the heavier MT#6 tailstock. It is the choice when the two-metre part is also thick.
Z rapid traverse is 15 m/min (591 in/min) and X is 20 m/min (787 in/min). The tailstock body can travel 2,040 mm (80.3 in).
Long, heavy shafts sag and chatter, which is why three of the options deserve a look at quotation time: the steady rest, the gear box for torque at low speed, and the linear scale. A 12-station servo turret can replace the standard BOT turret, and an APT 50 power turret with CS contouring control or CF axis control adds driven tools. Spindle bores in the table run from 90 mm (3.5 in) to 116.5 mm (4.6 in), with an A2-15 spindle headstock and 166 mm bar capacity as an option.
