How much does the CHMER CM A53C cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the CHMER CM A53C that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The CHMER CM A53C takes the frame of the smallest A-series CNC sinker EDM and stretches the table travel to 500 x 350 mm (19.7 x 13.8 in). Ram travel is 350 mm (13.8 in). Everything visible from outside is shared with the CM A43C: the same 1,910 x 1,800 x 2,280 mm outline, the same 650 x 400 mm table and the same 1,100 x 640 x 400 mm work tank.
So the extra travel is free in floor space, and the question is only whether the work needs it. A cavity near one end of a long insert, or several electrodes positions spread across a plate, can be reached without re-clamping. The workpiece limit stays at 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) and the electrode limit at 100 kg (220 lb).
CHMER's A-series features apply: a bridge design intended for heavy workpieces in a small footprint, linear glass scales with closed-loop control, and a PC-based dialogue CNC that builds the working program from the electrode and workpiece materials and the electrode size. The generator, 50N or 75N, and the 480 L (127 gal) dielectric tank are built in.
Burning performance is listed identically for both generators: 0.2% electrode wear and a best surface roughness of 0.25 μm Ra. The 75N draws 5 kVA at most. Several figures on CHMER's page for this model do not agree between metric and inch, so the ram-to-table distance and the machine weight are not shown.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 500 x 350 mm (19.7 x 13.8 in) table travel in the same outline as the CM A43C
- 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) workpiece and 100 kg (220 lb) electrode limits
- Built-in generator and 480 L (127 gal) dielectric tank
- Closed-loop positioning with linear glass scales
Limitations
- Table is 650 x 400 mm (25.6 x 15.7 in), no larger than on the CM A43C
- Maximum machining current is 75 A with the 75N generator
- Tool changer, C axis and CE conformity are options
- Machine weight and ram-to-table distance are printed inconsistently by the maker

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Only in table travel: 500 x 350 mm (19.7 x 13.8 in) on the CM A53C, 400 x 300 mm (15.7 x 11.8 in) on the CM A43C. Table size, work tank, ram travel, load limits, outside dimensions and generator options are the same.
02
1,100 x 640 x 400 mm (43.3 x 25.2 x 15.7 in), width by depth by height. The table inside it is 650 x 400 mm (25.6 x 15.7 in), and the dielectric tank holds 480 L (127 gal).
03
CHMER describes a friendly dialogue PC BASED CNC controller. The working program is made automatically after the electrode and workpiece materials and the size of the electrode are entered. An APC protection circuit guards against arcing in finish machining.
04
Maximum power input is 4 kVA for the 50N generator and 5 kVA for the 75N. Their maximum machining currents are 50 A and 75 A.
