CHMER D322CL — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the CHMER D322CL that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from CHMER or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The CHMER D322CL is a small CNC sinker EDM whose Z axis is driven by a linear motor. X and Y, with 300 x 200 mm (11.8 x 7.9 in) of travel, use AC servo motors; the 250 mm (9.8 in) ram axis is the direct-drive one. CHMER's six points for the model begin with its in-house linear motor drive system and go on to high machining speed, high response and low friction of axis movement.

Why put the linear motor on Z? In die sinking the ram is the axis that works hardest. It jumps constantly to clear debris from the gap, and in deep, narrow ribs flushing depends almost entirely on how fast and how far it can jump. A direct drive with no screw responds faster to that duty.

The rest of the machine is sized for small, precise electrodes. Maximum electrode weight is 20 kg (44 lb), the workpiece limit is 300 kg (661 lb) and the work tank is 770 x 500 x 300 mm. A workpiece of 720 x 450 x 190 mm fits. CHMER also lists medium-low current impulse and a rapid energy circuit, and offers 50N and 75N generators at 50 A and 75 A.

The frame weighs 1,400 kg (3,086 lb) and occupies 1,040 x 1,470 mm (40.9 x 57.9 in), with the generator as a separate unit. Compressed air at 6 kgf/cm2 is required. Dielectric volume is 280 L (74 gal).
