Overview

The Campro PV-3226 is the shortest of the widest PV double column machining centers. It has 2,600 mm (102.3 in) of Y travel and 2,700 mm (106.2 in) between its columns, against 3,200 mm (125.9 in) of X travel, which makes the working area close to square.

That proportion suits a different kind of part from the long-table models. The table measures 3,000 × 2,200 mm (118.1 in x 86.6 in), has eleven T-slots and carries 12,000 kg (26,455 lb). Large die blocks, ring-shaped weldments, gearbox housings and press frames fill a table like this in both directions. To carry the load across that width, Campro states that the PV-3226 is equipped with 3 guideways on the X-axis.

The jump in capacity over the next model down is large. The PV-3221 has the same X travel, feeds and spindle but takes 8,000 kg (17,636 lb) on a table 1,700 mm wide. The PV-3226 weighs 39,000 kg (85,980 lb), and its floor plan is 8,800 × 5,500 mm (346 in x 216 in).

Z travel is 800 mm (31.4 in), with 1,000 mm (39.3 in) optional. Rapid feedrate is 12 m/min in X and 15 m/min in Y and Z; cutting feedrate is 1~8,000 mm/min. Campro fits a 6,000 rpm gear-head spindle with a 15 / 18.5 kW (25 HP) motor, a one-piece ram and gear box on box guideways, twin chip screws and a 32-tool BT-50 chain type ATC. With a single spindle of that rating, a full-width facing pass on a 2,200 mm part is a long cut, and cycle estimates should reflect it.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 2,600 mm (102.3 in) of Y travel and 2,700 mm (106.2 in) between columns
  • 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) on a 3,000 × 2,200 mm (118.1 in x 86.6 in) table
  • 3 guideways on the X-axis, as Campro states for this model
  • Optional Z travel of 1,000 mm (39.3 in)
  • Shortest floor plan of the 26 family: 8,800 × 5,500 mm (346 in x 216 in)

Limitations

  • X travel of 3,200 mm (125.9 in) is short for the width; longer parts need the PV-4226
  • Rapids of 12 / 15 / 15 m/min and a cutting feed limit of 8,000 mm/min (314.9 in/min)
  • Spindle motor stays at 15 / 18.5 kW (25 HP)
  • 39,000 kg (85,980 lb) of machine before any workpiece is loaded

Best For

Large square or round parts up to 2,200 mm across Die blocks and housings up to 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) Wide weldments that need 2,700 mm (106.2 in) of column clearance Heavy work in a shop that cannot fit a longer bed

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How wide is the working area of the PV-3226?

Y axis travel is 2,600 mm (102.3 in) and the distance between columns is 2,700 mm (106.2 in). The table is 3,000 × 2,200 mm (118.1 in x 86.6 in) with eleven 22 mm T-slots. X axis travel is 3,200 mm (125.9 in).

02 How much weight does the PV-3226 table carry?

The maximum loading weight is 12,000 kg (26,455 lb). The narrower PV-3221, with the same X travel, is rated 8,000 kg (17,636 lb). Campro states that the PV-3226 is equipped with 3 guideways on the X-axis.

03 What Z clearance does the PV-3226 offer?

Z travel is 800 mm (31.4 in) with a spindle nose to table distance of 200~1,000 mm (7.8 in ~ 39.3 in). The optional Z travel of 1,000 mm (39.3 in) changes that range to 250~1,250 mm (9.8 in ~ 49.2 in). Maximum machine height is 4,200 mm (165 in).

04 What spindle is fitted to the PV-3226?
