Overview

Stretch the CPV-1600B-BT50 along X and you have the Campro CPV-1800B, a 50-taper box-way vertical machining center with 1,800 mm (70.8 in) of X travel. Y travel is 830 mm (32.6 in) and Z is 700 mm (27.5 in). Campro offers this size with the BT-50 spindle only.

The table grows to 2,000 × 800 mm (78.7 in x 31.4 in) and the load rating to 2,200 kg (4,850 lb), and machine weight to 16,000 kg (35,273 lb). Nothing else moves. Depth and height are those of the CPV-1600B-BT50, the Y and Z strokes are identical, and the floor plan is simply longer at 4,800 × 3,245 mm (188 in x 127 in). For a part slightly too long for the CPV-1600B-BT50, this is the smallest step up in the range; the alternative is the far larger CPV-2200B.

Cutting hardware is the BT50 package of the series: 6,000 rpm, an 11 / 15 kW (20 HP) motor on a belt type spindle, and a two-speed planetary gear head as an option. The 24-tool arm type changer handles 15 kg (33 lb) tools up to 300 mm (11.8 in) long and takes 7 sec chip to chip.

Long X on box ways is not quick. Rapids are 15 m/min in X and Y and 12 m/min in Z, with a cutting feedrate of 10,000 mm/min (393.7 in/min). Power supply is 30 kVA and height 3,200 mm (125 in). The page carries a table base note written for the CPV-1600B, describing 4 boxway type guideways.
