Price estimate
We do not have a price for the BLM Group LT8.20 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Two independent loaders set the BLM Group LT8.20 apart from the smaller Lasertubes. Each one can be a bundle, step-by-step or single bar loader, and each can sit at the front or the rear of the machine. A long run on one loader can be interrupted for a rush job on the other and then picked up again. The working range is 0.5" to 9.45" in diameter with bar up to 27 lb/ft, cut by a 3D Tube Cutter head.
The fiber source is offered at 3-4-5-6 kW. With 27 lb/ft against the 15.5 lb/ft of the LT7, this is the Lasertube for heavier wall and for the medium-large sections, open profiles and IPE beams that BLM mentions for it. Above its bar weight, the LT12 takes over at 41.6 lb/ft.
How much room does it need? That depends on the layout, which BLM leaves to the buyer. The standard machine has loading of 21 ft (6.5 m) and unloading of 15 ft (4.5 m), and the unloading length can be extended to 21 ft (6.5 m) or 27 ft (8.5 m). Where floor space is short there is a Compact arrangement with a motorized chain loader on the front. Loading and unloading are then on the same side, so the machine can stand close to a wall.
Bundles of up to 11,000 lb (5,000 kg) are accepted and the minimum loading length is 8 ft (2.5 m). Four programmable unloading positions work with a rear conveyor belt and motorized collection tables. The electrical table lists 63 kVA installed, with an average drawn power of 16 kW on O2 and 21 kW on N2.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two independent loaders, each bundle, stepper or single bar, positioned at the front or rear
- Working range from 0.5" to 9.45" in diameter and up to 27 lb/ft
- Fiber source of 3-4-5-6 kW with a 3D Tube Cutter head
- Four programmable unloading positions, a rear conveyor belt and motorized front and rear collection tables
- Compact version with a front chain loader fits a small space close to a wall
- Configures itself automatically for small batches and frequent production changes
Limitations
- Installed power of 63 kVA has to be available at the machine
- Two loaders and long unloading tables take floor space unless the Compact layout is chosen
- Bar weight ends at 27 lb/ft; the LT12 carries 41.6 lb/ft
- The minimum loading length is 8 ft (2.5 m), so shorter remnants are not loaded automatically

Frequently Asked Questions
01
So that two jobs can be staged at once. BLM's example is a large batch running bar after bar on one loader, with a job added on the fly on the second; the machine then returns to the first batch. Each loader can be a bundle, stepper or single bar type and can be placed at the front or the rear.
02
The tube range is from 0.5" to 9.45" in diameter, and tubes and profiles can weigh up to 27 lb/ft. Round, square and rectangular tubes, special sections and open profiles are listed, in mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and brass.
03
A layout for small batches of medium-large sections, open profiles and IPE. It uses a chain loader on the front side, listed in the table as motorized chains. Loading and unloading are on the same side, which reduces the footprint and lets the machine be placed close to a wall.
04
The table lists an installed power of 63 kVA for the fiber machine. Average drawn power is given as 16 kW when cutting with O2 and 21 kW with N2. It does not break these figures down by source rating, so confirm them for the source you intend to order.
05
It is the next size up. The LT7 is limited to 15.5 lb/ft, while the LT8.20 takes 27 lb/ft and adds a second loader and a fourth programmable unloading position. The LT7 lists a fiber source of 3-4-5 kW; here the list runs to 3-4-5-6 kW.
