BLM Group LT7 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the BLM Group LT7 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from BLM Group or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Section changes without a setup stop are what the BLM Group LT7 is built around. At the end of a batch the loader, spindle, steady rest and intermediate supports adapt on their own to the next section, and the 3D Tube Cutter head moves to the new job without anyone touching the line. The machine takes tube from 0.5" to 6" in diameter at up to 15.5 lb/ft, with a fiber source of 3-4-5 kW.

That diameter range matches the smaller 3D model. What changes is everything around the cut. Bar weight rises from the 12 lb/ft of the LT6, more laser power can be ordered, and the universal support templates adjust to the workpiece automatically instead of by hand. For a shop running many short batches, those points decide between the two.

Loading is by bundle or single bar, fully automatic, with a capacity of 11,023 lb (5,000 kg). Bars as short as 6 ft 3 in (1.9 m) are accepted. The longest are 21 ft (6.5 m) - 27 ft (8.5 m), depending on the version, and the unloading side is 15 ft (4.5 m) or 21 ft (6.5 m) or 27 ft (8.5 m). BLM builds the machine right-handed or left-handed. The point of the choice, in its words, is that a single operator can control two machines.

Plan the installation around 52,690 lb (23,900 kg), fume extraction included, and an average drawn power of 15 kW on O2 or 20 kW on N2. Further equipment described by BLM includes an automatic tower magazine for tube, an insertion unit that fits threaded inserts from M4 to M12 in the cutting cycle, and a tube cleaner that collects waste and fumes from inside the tube.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Loader, spindle, steady rest and intermediate supports adapt automatically to the new section at the end of each batch
  • Fiber source of 3-4-5 kW with the BLM GROUP 3D Tube Cutter head
  • Loads bars from 6 ft 3 in (1.9 m), by bundle or single bar, with a capacity of 11,023 lb (5,000 kg)
  • Right or left versions, so a single operator can control two machines
  • Active Scan corrects the part program for twisted or deformed tubes
  • An automatic tower magazine and an insertion unit for threaded inserts from M4 to M12 are available

Limitations

  • Tube diameter stops at 6"; larger sections need the LT8.20
  • Machine weight of 52,690 lb (23,900 kg) including fume extraction means the floor should be checked first
  • Average drawn power rises from 15 kW with O2 to 20 kW with N2
  • Bar weight limit of 15.5 lb/ft, against 27 lb/ft on the LT8.20

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the LT7 differ from the LT6?

Both have a 3D head and the same 0.5" to 6" diameter range. The LT7 carries more: 15.5 lb/ft against 12 lb/ft on the LT6, and a fiber source of 3-4-5 kW where the LT6 lists 3 kW. Its supports and loader also adapt automatically when the section changes.

02 What lengths can the LT7 load and unload?

The minimum loadable length is 6 ft 3 in (1.9 m). The maximum loadable length is 21 ft (6.5 m) - 27 ft (8.5 m). The unloading length is 15 ft (4.5 m) or 21 ft (6.5 m) or 27 ft (8.5 m). BLM's advice is to choose both lengths according to production needs.

03 How heavy is the LT7 and how much power does it draw?

The machine weighs 52,690 lb (23,900 kg), a figure that includes fume extraction. Average drawn power is 15 kW with O2 cutting gas and 20 kW with N2 cutting gas. The table does not say which source rating those averages refer to.

04 What automation can be added to the LT7?

BLM describes an automatic tower magazine in which steel boxes of tube move to the machine and back at each production change, and says robotic loaders or automated storage systems can be integrated. Bars can also be loaded manually, with a bridge crane or with a forklift.

05 What do the right and left versions of the LT7 mean?

The machine is built right-handed or left-handed. Choosing one of each lets two machines be arranged so that a single operator controls both, which BLM gives as the purpose of the option.
