Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AXA VSC 2 - XTS that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With 850 mm (33.5 in) of Z travel over a bed that can be anything from 1,760 mm to 9,000 mm long, the AXA VSC 2 - XTS is the mid-size SK 40 model of the VSC travelling column series. Y travel is 600 mm (23.6 in). The spindle nose can stand up to 1,030 mm above the fixed table, which is what separates this machine from the lower VSC 1.
AXA builds the VSC around fixed machine tables with all linear motion on the tool side. On a long bed that matters: a heavy or awkward part never has to be accelerated, and the table can carry rotary tables, a tailstock or clamping bridges anywhere along its length. The load rating here is 1,000 kg/m² on four T-slots.
Spindle choice is wider than on the VSC 1. Drive no. 110 with 143 Nm and 30 kW at 40% DC is standard. Besides drives no. 100 and no. 111, this model can take drive no. 113, which delivers 255 Nm and 40 kW and can be ordered up to 10,000 rpm. Tool holders are SK 40, with BT 40, HSK A63 or C6 as options.
Rapids of 40/40/30 m/min are standard. The XTS magazine starts at 22 pockets and extends to 216, tool change takes approx. 5 s, and AXA notes that tools are pre-selected by a double gripper arm during machining. Positioning accuracy is ± 0.015 mm per 1,000 mm, with ± 0.0075 mm as the optional grade.
