How much does the AWEA LP-2516YZF cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA LP-2516YZF that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
A Z in the model name marks the tall-ram variant, and on the AWEA LP-2516YZF it brings two changes at once: Z travel of 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and a 4,000 rpm gear spindle as the standard fit. X travel is 2,500 mm (98.4 in), Y is 1,900 mm (74.8 in), and the table is the 2,310 x 1,500 mm (90.9 x 59.1 in) casting of the smallest LP machines, good for 8,000 kg (17,637 lb).
The longer stroke is used at both ends. The spindle nose comes down to 200 mm (7.9 in) above the table and rises to 1,200 mm (47.2 in). The LP-2516YF, with 760 mm (29.9 in) of Z, works between 400 and 1,160 mm (15.7 ~ 45.7 in). So the YZF reaches lower for ordinary vertical milling on thin parts and still clears a slightly taller workpiece or a longer head.
AWEA rates the 4,000 rpm high torque spindle at a maximum of 977 N-m at 254 rpm from its 26 kW motor, through a 2-speed gear box. That is a spindle for large face mills, deep boring and big taps in steel and cast iron. Shops that need speed instead have four optional choices in the table: built-in motorized spindles of 6,000 / 8,000 rpm and direct drive spindles of 8,000 / 10,000 rpm.
Short X travel keeps the machine quick and tight. X and Y rapid at 20,000 mm/min (787 ipm), and the VDI figures are P ≤ 0.020 mm over full travel and Ps ≤ 0.015 mm. Weight is listed as 26,500 kg (58,422 lb), identical to the LP-2516YF.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z travel, with the spindle nose ranging from 200 to 1,200 mm (7.9 ~ 47.2 in) above the table
- Standard 4,000 rpm high torque gear spindle, stated at 977 N-m at 254 rpm
- Built-in 6,000 / 8,000 rpm and direct drive 8,000 / 10,000 rpm spindles available as options
- P ≤ 0.020 mm VDI positioning over full travel and Ps ≤ 0.015 mm repeatability
- 20,000 mm/min (787 ipm) rapid on X and Y
Limitations
- 4,000 rpm as standard limits small tools and aluminium work unless an optional spindle is ordered
- The 2,310 mm table is shorter than the 2,500 mm (98.4 in) X travel
- Table load of 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) is the lowest in the group
- Tool length is limited to 400 mm (15.7 in) even with the 1,000 mm Z stroke

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Z travel and the spindle. The LP-2516YZF has 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z, a spindle nose range of 200 ~ 1,200 mm (7.9 ~ 47.2 in) and a 4,000 rpm standard spindle. The LP-2516YF has 760 mm (29.9 in) of Z, a range of 400 ~ 1,160 mm (15.7 ~ 45.7 in) and 6,000 rpm as standard. X, Y, table, load, rapids and the listed weight of 26,500 kg (58,422 lb) are the same on both.
02
AWEA states that the 4,000 rpm high torque spindle has a 26 kW motor and a maximum torque output of 977 N-m at 254 rpm. It is driven through a 2-speed gear box, and a floating hydraulic tool release takes the unclamping force off the spindle bearing. The spec table gives motor power as 22 / 26 kW (30 / 35 HP).
03
Two families are listed. The built-in motorized spindles run at 6,000 or 8,000 rpm, and AWEA gives a maximum of 600 N-m at 350 rpm for them. The direct drive spindles run at 8,000 or 10,000 rpm with a maximum of 165 N-m at 1,500 rpm. All are options on this model; the taper stays BT50 (ISO50), with DIN69871-A optional.
04
The limit is the 1,200 mm (47.2 in) between spindle nose and table at the top of the stroke, less the tool. With a tool of the maximum 400 mm (15.7 in) length in the spindle, the clearance over the table is reduced accordingly, and a milling head takes further height. Work it out from the part, the fixture and the longest tool before committing.
