Overview

The AWEA HTP-5041 combines 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X travel with the 4,300 mm (169.3 in) column spacing of the widest HTP frame. Its 5,020 x 3,000 mm (197.6 x 118.1 in) table is rated for 18,000 kg (39,683 lb), and the machine weighs 49,000 kg (108,025 lb).

A cutting envelope this large produces chips and heat in volume, and the fluid side of the machine is sized for it. The coolant tank holds 1,300 liter, compared with 1,050 liter on the HTP-5033 and 900 liter on the HTP-5025. Chips leave by two coil type augers and a caterpillar type conveyor, all standard. AWEA adds that the coolant tank reduces heating of the cutting fluid. The hydraulic tank is 100 liter, the lubrication tank 6 liter, and the air supply must deliver 5 ~ 8 kg/cm².

The structure follows the series pattern. Roller type linear guide ways are used on all three axes; the table runs on 4 guideways with a central ball screw; the cross beam carries the head on three stepped guideways. FEM analysis and hand scraping of the contact surfaces are both claimed by the maker.

In motion the HTP-5041 is the slowest of the three 5,000 mm models on the cross axes: 10 m/min (394 ipm) for Y and Z, the same 10 m/min for X, and 1 ~ 5 m/min (39 ~ 197 ipm) cutting feed. Y travel appears in the table as "Opt.4,100 mm (4,800)". The spindle is the 4,000 rpm gear type with BBT50 (ISO 50).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,300 liter coolant tank, the largest of the three 5,000 mm HTP models
  • Two coil type chip augers and a caterpillar type chip conveyor are standard
  • 4,300 mm (169.3 in) between the columns with an 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) table load
  • Roller type linear guide ways on all three axes
  • VDI positioning of P ≤ 0.040 mm over full travel

Limitations

  • Rapid traverse is 10 m/min (394 ipm) on every axis; the HTP-5033 lists 12 m/min (472 ipm) on Y and Z
  • Cutting feed of 1 ~ 5 m/min (39 ~ 197 ipm)
  • Y travel is printed as an option, "Opt.4,100 mm (4,800)", with no standard figure
  • 49,000 kg (108,025 lb), against 47,000 kg (103,616 lb) for the HTP-5033 with the same table

Best For

Wide weldments and casings that need 4,300 mm (169.3 in) between the columns High-volume chip removal in steel, with flood coolant from a 1,300 liter tank Parts up to 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) on a 5,020 x 3,000 mm table Long roughing cycles where rapid speed is secondary

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the HTP-5041 handle chips and coolant?

Two coil type chip augers and a caterpillar type chip conveyor are standard on the HTP series. This model's coolant tank is 1,300 liter. AWEA says the tank reduces cutting fluid heating, which helps accuracy over long cycles.

02 What are the three 5,000 mm HTP models and how do they differ?

The HTP-5025 has 2,700 mm (106.3 in) between the columns and weighs 45,000 kg (99,206 lb). The HTP-5033 has 3,500 mm (137.8 in) and weighs 47,000 kg (103,616 lb). The HTP-5041 has 4,300 mm (169.3 in) and weighs 49,000 kg (108,025 lb). All three carry 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) and share the VDI accuracy figures.

03 What guideways does the HTP-5041 use?

Roller type linear guide ways on all three axes. AWEA describes 4 guideways on the base for the X-axis, a stepped offset three guideways design for the Y-axis and two guideways on each side of the headstock for Z. Position feedback is semi-closed loop, with encoders directly connected to the ball screws.

04 What compressed air does the HTP-5041 require?

The air pressure requirement is listed as 5 ~ 8 kg/cm². No flow figure is given in the specification, and the electrical supply row carries no kVA value, so both should be requested from AWEA for site planning.
