Overview

The Dener TMC 1200 is the mid-size model of Dener's vertical machining center range and the first with a larger frame. Travels are 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in X and 600 mm in both Y and Z, over a 1,300 x 600 mm table.

Table load doubles compared with the two smaller machines, to 1,000 kg (2,205 lb). That is the figure that opens up mould bases, welded fixtures and steel plate work.

The axis drives grow to match. Dener lists the axis motors as 3.5/3.5/3.5 kW. Rapid traverse stays at 36 m/min per axis and the cutting feed range is 1~15 m/min.

The spindle, however, is the same as on the small models: BBT 40, 10,000 rpm, 7.5/18 kW and 47.7/115 Nm. For a machine with a one-tonne table that is a light spindle. It is well suited to aluminium, to finishing and to moderate cuts in steel. Shops that rough heavily in steel should compare the TMC 1300, whose motor is listed at 11/30 kW.

Standard equipment includes C3 class ball screws, ball or roller linear guideways, rigid tapping and a spindle air-blow system. The control is a Mitsubishi M80A-8A.
